Before we get to the hotel the weather in Crete this late May was rubbish. As a person who wants 8:00 to 19:00 wall to wall blue sky was not euphoric about the week away.
So as you can tell this review is by Mr. Grumpy!!
When you arrive the front of the hotels location is a disappointment, it's on a main road, in a semi-commercial area i.e. just up the road a is a BMW dealers and a tyre fitters! In the other direction it slowly becomes more holiday area.
On entering the hotel this is soon forgotten the reception is classy leading through to the bar and bar which is located above the restaurant. The view from here is down towards the beach, the garden area not looking as long as in photographs but is spacious enough to make the hotel (which we were informed was full) to never seem crowded. You soon forget the front location as you do not hear the road an stepping 'out the back' is another world.
Onto the room we had a double with sea view the double bed was big enough for four adults (we never had more than two) with a settee, fridge, good bathroom but sadly no bidet.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, and is the first hotel I have ever been in that seems to have more sun loungers than guests.
The bonus in this hotel are the staff. They are super efficient but friendly, nothing is too much trouble, from the maids who clean the rooms to the management all are excellent I cannot praise the enough. Not one member was below the top level.
As said at the beginning the weather was poor but the hotel made the holiday despite me Mr. Grumpy about the weather,
Pass the ouzo please.
