It was our 3rd time a 2-week vacation in this hotel. It is ideal for demanding parents with young children. And we'll come back next year, as so far we could not find anything matching in quality and service. In addition, since the resort includes 4 hotels, marina, number of independent restaurants, etc. one has always opportunity to choose from, and there's no feeling that you are stuck in the place.
First, though 100% occupancy the hotel is not crowded and everyone has a privacy. Second, the staff is very well trained: helpful, friendly, and careing. Third, facilities are all up to date, well maintained: the SPA, rooms, private beach, the pool. And finally, for young kids you could get almost anything you need (there's a supermarket in marina).
What we especially like about the hotel is that there's no buffet and "all inclusive" eating system. Thus, guaranteeing individual and quality food and service. The other positive thing is the absence of animation team in the hotel (if needed, this could be found in other resort hotels or newly built amphiteatre).
Well, it is not cheap, it's true. But anyway, the hotel is usually pre-book several months in advance. So, we book our family suite for summer end of winter...

We had read about the porto sani a couple years ago and really wanted to stay there. Finally we found a great deal with sovereign and a free upgrade to half board! We upgraded the room to a family suite and it was lovely. Hugely spacious, his and hers sinks, tv's in the main bedroom and living area, a very nice garden area. It was exactly what we wanted. I think when you travel with children you want simplicity, but still have the luxury that adults want out of a holiday. The PSV is quite a small hotel which means your rooms are close to everything, so if you have forgotten something in the room its no bother to nip back again.
The staff cannot do enough for you! We felt like royalty while we were there. Nothing is too much to ask. The half board option lets you dine around the marina in many of its restaurants. This is a definate bonus! the marina is lovely with restaurants, little shops, and a supermarket so if you have forgotten anything thats the place to head! The beach is fantastic, waiter service and towels provided.
The main restaurant in the hotel also has a "childrens play table" so that while you are eating your cranky children have something to do! There is also a member of staff at the table to play with the children. The food at the main restaurant in the hotel for us by by far the best! The staff even know you by name! I have to add as well that daily the manager would approach you to make sure your stay is everything you expect and if he can do anything for you. They truly want you to have the best time ever! Even on half board you never have "buffet" style dinners (unless you wanted to try out the sani beach club restaurant) which we didnt. Why bother when its so good where you are. Many couples there booked spots at the melissa creche and used babysitting. They all seemed very happy with it but we personally did not use this. You can hire bikes and ride around, theres a big ampitheatre for nighttime entertainment, and for next year they are building a kids playground (there is one at the sani beach i think?)
With young children (aged 4 and 1) it was the most perfect holiday with the least amount of stress as possible! which says alot when your travelling with kids! I wouldn't recommend it for couples wanting a romantic holiday cause all you will get is kids running around everywhere. For parents, you dont feel like your constantly "shhhh"ing your child trying not to ruin someone else's dinner because everyones kids are doing the same thing.
You have to try the spa. Christine at the spa gives amazing massages
One recommendation i would have is on the way to the marina there is an open gate that is not guarded. There are gates when you enter at the front that are guarded but not the back. So technically anyone from the marina could walk into the hotel area. We didint find this a problem at all but for piece of mind it would be nice.
Overall we had the best family holiday ever! The food was fantastic, the service was outstanding, the hotel was perfect and clean, the kids had a great time and so did we!

We stayed at the PSV for 2 weeks in mid July with our very energetic 1 and 2 yr olds. The hotel was lovely, very clean and modern, with lots of attention to detail. The pools are fantastic, with plenty of toys left behind by previous guests provided to play with. Our kids loved the mini club - they went there every morning for 3 hours - and settled in on the first day - could not have been happier with the staff there. There was a great variety of activities for them both in and outdoors including trips to the beach, bug hunting and trips for ice cream. There was a large outdoor play area at the mini club with some covered space.

We spent most of the mornings at the Asterias Beach which we thought better than the allocated PSV beach on the other side of the marina as the beach was larger and more gently sloping which meant even our 16 month old could play safely in the edge of the sea. It is a beautiful beach and we had lunch there every day. The beach service is great and you can call for a golf buggy to take you and very tired children back to your room. There was no need to reserve space on the beach as there were always plenty of chairs available.

Our room was as expected, and kept very clean. We were in room 806 (as per the previous review) however, I would note that whilst the location was great, block "8" does overlook the back of the marina restaurants, and as our toddlers were napping every afternoon for a couple of hours, it was not so pleasant sitting in the garden with the loud air conditioning outlets and smell of chips frying wafting over the garden.

We also found that the first night, our children's beds (a fantastic cot bed and a fold out bed) were made with little care and attention - 1 ill fitting sheet on the bottom that did not cover the edges of the mattress, and no undersheet. We had to request a couple of times that the beds be made with more care, and from then on the beds were made correctly. Also, note that there is no chain on the door, just a deadlock, which toddlers can easily reach and make a sharp exit! We also had to blackout the children's windows with magic blackout lining as the room is very light even with the curtains closed.

Variety of restaurants was great - we particularly liked Tomata, Sea You Up and the Ouzerie Psarayannos. Mojitos was very good for quick food with the children if you wanted more basic food. One note for the whole resort is that service is NOT quick. If you have two hungry toddlers you need to tell the service staff that you need to be quick, and on the beach you can order in advance and say what time you want your food, rather than order and then wait for it to turn up at a random time. We were on a free upgrade to Half Board, including the children, which made the dine around scheme very good value. Set menus at Tomata and Macaroni were good. We found Artemis very good quality but the service was just too slow, even with the children's play table, and the wonderful Marina occupying children - they have a tendency to escape the restaurant whenever possible. Breakfast at Artemis was great - lots of choice especially the fresh fruit. There is definitely a wasp problem at the resort - particularly at meal times.

There is a great bike hire shop - our 2 year old learnt to ride a bike whilst there - and you can get push along ride ons for the really little ones. Quite expensive, but we got a better price on 2 weeks.

Supermarket in the marina stocks most baby things you need, however, when we ran out of swim nappies, they were out of stock so the wonderful front desk arranged to get some from outside the hotel for us. They were available a few days later, but word of warning that the local swim nappies are useless so take plenty from home.

All in, this was a wonderful holiday and we only had small niggles, which were easily put right. A very relaxing place which makes a holiday with small children very easy. We will definitely be going back next year.

Had a week holiday in Porto Sani Village. Children, aged 5 and 7, had a fantastic stay. Lots of activities for them and parents came back feeling as though they had a break, Used Childrens Club once and had no issues with it. Children wanted to spend the day on either beach or by the pool. Dine around works very well although had to ask for set menu in a couple of restaurants. We hired bikes and these proved to be a great success and an ideal way to get around the resort (hotel do provide piloted buggies). Shows in Garden Theatre also great success for family night out; Mammi Mia favourite. In our opinion this is definitely not a place to go as a couple as difficult to find time away from children at night, particularly in restaurants.

A Greek welcome and exemplary service from trendy-uniformed staff in a very stylish resort... we spent the holiday as a family of 6 and the needs were catered for us, the grandparents and the children. It was extra special to meet the uber-smart hotel manager who sets the benchmark for this fine hotel.
It is well geared up for children which made for a relaxing stay yet the adult-only areas of the hotel were luxurious and serene - a must for if u put the kids in the kids club - which is prob the best kids club i have ever come across, from 5star resorts worldwide.
Use of the club carts was one of the best and well used services. The Marina was stylish and the inclusion of a small yet well-stocked supermarket was a godsend (they even had Aptamil 2 hungry baby milk powder!)
Can't wait to go again...

I stayed at the Porto Sani Village (PSV) for a week with my husband and 2 year old daughter at the beginning of July. The minute we arrived at the gate to the resort, I knew this would be a great holiday. The beaming smile on the porter's face as he opened our taxi door followed by the warm welcome at reception and the offer of a welcome drink of your choice all set the holiday off to a good start.
The suite was extremely clean, furnished with a contemporary look and contained the mod cons expected including 2 Flat Screen TV's plus DVD player, expresso maker, kettle, fully stocked mini bar. The bathroom was particularly spacious with a jacuzzi bath, 2 basins and a separate walk-in shower. Robes and slippers were provided and the toddler robes were especially cute! A complimentary bottle of wine and fruit placed on the coffee table with a note from the Manager was a nice touch. We stayed in room 806 which was in a great location, close to all the amenities but yet away from the noise of the Open Theatre and Pool. Both morning maid service and evening turn down service was excellent with even more nice touches such as complimentary chocolate, weather forecast and small bottles of water.
All of the public areas were immaculate and it is obvious that a lot of time and effort is spent on the upkeep of the resort. The pool area is fabulous with a variety of pools to choose from. We spent a lot of time in the two children's pool where my daughter played happily for hours. Towels and toys are all provided. We also had the opportunity to use the adults only pool area and spa which was absolutely bliss.
The beach areas were just as good - we particularly liked the beach by the San Asterias Suite where plenty of toys were provided for children plus there was free babysitting whilst the adults sunbathed!!
Eating and drinking at PSV and infact throughout the whole Sani Resort & Marina is extremely expensive. Even with the half board option it is easy to spend far more than expected on food and drink. The main restaurant at PSV, Artemis was by far the best place to eat in terms of service and quality of food. The other restaurant definately worth visiting is the Ouzerie at Sani Beach Club. The restaurant has a beautiful view and the food (mainly fish) is excellant. If you have lots of spare cash then a visit to the Water restaurant and Bar is a must! This is definately a place to be seen. The service in the restaurant is excellant and the food is good but to be honest there is very little difference between the standard of the food at the Water restaurant and Artemis and hence it is difficult to justify spending the extra money. Personally, I think a little too much salt was used in the cooking at the Water Restaurant and the palate cleanser was more of a desert in its own right. I recommend skipping the food and just reserve a place in the Water Bar instead where you will be looked after by the Manager, Nikos Vettas.
The other restaurants we ate in were Macaroni (Italian) and at Sea You Up (Japanese). The starter (Beef Carpaccio) and desert (Semi-freddo) were absolutely delicious but the pizzas were a little disappointing; the toppings were quite bland and the pizzas were geared to quantity rather than quality. The children's menu was good and overall it was a pleasant meal. The biggest disappointment was dining at Sea You Up. A lover of Japanese food, I was really looking forward to eating here. Again, it is another place to be seen. Both the restuarant & bar were beautifully furnished with a modern feel. The service was good but the cost of the food was definately over the top. For example, Ebi Soba from the childrens menu cost 22EUR. To be frank, I eaten fresher sushi at Yo Sushi and tastier noodles at Wagamamas!
Back to PSV - I cannot praise this place highly enough. It is such a perfect place to come with your children and actually be able to relax yourself!! I was extremely impressed by the creche, particularly with all of the activities provided.
We received impeccable service throughout our stay, particularly with staff at PSV. The management should be extremely proud of their team of staff. A special mention and thanks goes to Plamena, Guest Services Manager, who looked after all of our requests and reservations before and throughout the holiday.
It is difficult to find fault with PSV and the following are rather recommendations for further improvement rather than criticism:
1) Childrens play area dedicated to PSV guests - I understand that there are plans for this already. I hope this will be completed for the new year.
2) Flies were a bit of a nuisance and suggest either providing fly spray in the suites or making sure that the suites are sprayed during maid & turn down service.
3) During our stay, I noticed a significant number of guests who smoked at the table during breakfast and dinner (even those with children). As passive smoking is just as harmful, I suggest seating smokers away from the childrens area.
Finally, PSV is an amazing place and I cannot wait to go back next year. Yes, it is expensive but "You're Worth It".

Porto Sani Village is a superb hotel located in the wonderful Sani Resort, Halkidiki Greece. The resort itself is centred around a man made marina in beautiful natural surroundings. The resorts vast sandy beaches are fringed by verdant pine forests and stunning wetlands which are an important habitat for wildlife and migratory birds.
The hotel consists of low rise accommodation in perfectly manicured gardens and it oozes quality in every department.
The young Greek manager is very hands on and he has assembled a very professional and capable team to cater for your every need. From the very first moment you arrive at the reception you are made to feel special by Vicky and her team and this continues throughout your stay.
Porto Sani Village has an excellent restaurant ‘Artemis’ serving breakfast and dinner and you can also take advantage of the ‘dine around’ facility which operates in numerous restaurants throughout the resort.
The various pools are very well maintained and there is also a superb spa. An ‘adults only’ pool has recently been added and we found this to be very quiet and relaxing. We must add that even though the hotel was almost full, it never felt overcrowded.
The Sani Resort is privately owned and this is reflected in the very friendly and personal service.
During our stay, we used many of the restaurants and facilities around the resort and we found that the staff were always friendly and efficient, offering a high quality service.
In our opinion, the hotel is very worthy of its ‘5 star’ status and we would not hesitate to recommend it to couples and families alike.
