Knowle farm delivered more than we were expecting, lovely spacious cottage with great views across the farm (stayed in cow mumble). Everything felt clean and airy, loads of equipment for the kids, booster seats, high chairs, cots, changing mats etc.

The farm animals were a great hit with the kids and we were pleased that the pond was only accessible via a gate, so felt children were very safe.

The pool was fantastic as were the games barn and the new track around the rabbit enclosure for the kids to play in. The woodland walk around the farm was lovely and just perfect length for our 3 year old and nine month old to enjoy.

The owners were very accommodating and not at all rules obsessive, unlike some other farm holidays we've been on. We would not hesitate to recommend knowle farm and would like to return again. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Knowle Farm is a lovely place to stay. The cottages are well cared for and nicely furbished. The cottage was very clean and is well-equipped with maps, brochures and even logs for the fire. There is a booklet full of recommendations for beaches and restaurants and even some discounts for staying here. However also in this booklet is pages full of rules to follow. Although I understand the owners do not want to have to pay for repairs etc. some of them are just common sense, are quite patronising and prevent you from feeling relaxed. Shoes are banned in the buildings which is understandable but this is very annoying to have to keep to since the 'carpets' are so uncomfortable to walk on. When swimming in the pool, it is not possible to do lengths without grazing your knee on the floor. Ball games are also banned which means there is not much to do. The tennis courts seem to be forgotten about with weeds along the lines but is very grippy and does its job. The highlight has to be the animals!!! You name it, its there. With the opportunity to feed them also! If you are thinking of staying there, a car is crucial since it is in the middle of nowhere! It is down a long road and is a 5-10 min drive to Totnes. Lovely place all the same!

We stayed at Knowle Farm in July 2012 and had a fantastic time. It was the first holiday we had done like this and after doing lots of research, thought this place looked suitable. We were not disappointed! The cottage (Moncks Green) had stunning views from the upstairs windows and was so well equipped I didn't need half the things I had brought with me. The owners were very friendly and helpful and there was a detailed booklet in the cottage suggesting places to visit, places to eat and even a page on what to do if it rains! My 2 girls (aged 4 and a half and 2) loved seeing the animals everyday and feeding the pigs, hens and ducks. The animals were all very friendly and well cared for and they had a rather vocal peacock who loved to open his feathers, much to the delight of my girls. The play barn was a great hit, as was the tennis court which we used a few times (all very close to the cottages) but the main attraction had to be the gorgeous indoor swimming pool. We had it pretty much to ourselves most of the time and there is a local lady called Angela who can come and give swimming lessons for 1/2 an hour if you want. My 4 and a half year old had a lesson with her every morning and she was wonderful! She was kind, motivating, fun and really helped my daughter gain in confidence in the water. I would highly reccommend having some lessons with her. All in all we had a truly lovely holiday at Knowle Farm and would definitely reccommend it as a great place for a family holiday, especially if you have younger children.

Had six days here in July 2012. Excellent and very well-equipped cottage (Cowmumble) which was extremely clean and well presented with views across the duck pond, river and fields. Seeing alpacas every morning was slightly surreal!
The swimming pool is 10-11m long and on all but one occasion we were the only people in it. It's deep enough to swim properly in, as well as muck around with children. The games room has table tennis and pool as well as a soft play area for younger kids.
The farm animals are well kept and friendly - especially if the ducks and chickens think you have food to hand! While we were there, the owner was building a spacious walk-in enclosure for the rabbits.
You can walk among the animals down to the small river which flows through the grounds, or take a longer waymarked walk through woodland (which can get boggy underfoot).
The farm is down a small lane, surprisingly close to the A38, so a car is pretty much essential, although it is possible to walk to the nearby village.
The only drawback was some pretty terrible weather while we were there!
Highly recommended - I have stayed in many 'farm cottages' and thought this was one of the nicest we had found.

We are a family of 3 & we had a fantastic holiday at Knowle Farm. We all loved the pool which was clean, had plenty of space & we were lucky to have it all to ourselves. The play barn was a hit with our son who loved it, & we had to drag him out. The cottage was well equipped, clean & had lovely views. We loved feeding the pigs & seeing all the animals, especially watching the ducks! The owners have really tried to think of everything & were very helpful, giving advice on good pubs & great places to visit. We were lucky to have lovely sunshine, but Knowle farm provides plenty of entertainment whatever the weather.

Absolutely loved Knowle Farm. Stayed in Cow Mumble with my parents, husband and one year old, plenty of room for all of us and view over the fields absolutely stunning. Facilities are fantastic- it rained constantly and a few of us were ill but we were still able to enjoy our holiday as there is so much to do on site. Animals great fun and playroom a godsend. Can't recommend highly enough, we're hoping to return. Stout slippers advisable for carpet tho. House of Marbles a brilliant afternoon out and shopping in Totnes a must.

We have just arrived back fro a weeks stay at the farm, we were a party of seven. Four adults and three children under five, we stayed in Woodbine Cottage and found there to be more than enough space for us all to eat, play and spend time in the cottage.
We all found the cottage to be well equipped and home from home, we mainly ate in the cottage as we have young children, the size and equipment in the kitchen were great and the dining space was also good.
The farm and facilities on site are perfect. The play barn is so well thought out accommodating youngsters and also adults with magazines, pool or table tennis. The swimming pool, again perfect. The farm was lovely to walk around, and we all enjoyed meeting the animals.
The farm is in a good location, and places to explore are not far away.
All in all a brilliant week, perfectly clean and accommodating cottage with fantastic facilities.....I am sure we'll be returning!
