We spent two wonderful days/nights at the "manor" which really reminds one of an ancient midievel fortress. The room "Dojon" was VERY large and had tile floors and period furniture + a HUGE stone fireplace. We had to climb up the old tower spiral staicase to reach it and it really felt like we we going back in time. It was immaculately clean and even though there were campers and children around, it was quiet when the windows were closed.
The continental breakfast, served in the breakfast room with a newly lit fire in the fireplace, was fresh and adequate. The food in the restaurant was well-prepared and tasty. The grounds and countryside surroundings are fantastic and we would recommend this place to anyone who wants something out of the ordinary for a very decent price.
If you don't understand French, it may be difficult to communicate with the owners, but they try VERY hard! There is not much a selection in the restaurant, especially on Sundays, but they really try to please. One thing that could be improved is to see to it that there are the correct amount of bath towels for the number of people in the room. This was corrected easily by just asking.
Since the Manoir is out-of-the-way and in quite a secluded spot, you need to have a car to get there. It is a great home base for wonderful sightseeing in Bas-Normandy, the nearby beaches and is relatively close to Mont St. Michel. Out recommendation is to plan a few days to stop, travel back in time and really enjoy the serenity of this place!
