Simple and affordable

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 26, 2017
Condo as dirty, the bathroom had tape holding up some of the trims, not well equipped and very dated. The problem is that you are a self check in and check out service so if you need anything it is very hard to get a hold of somebody. The hot tub wasn't working. The area is close to both Canmore and Banff so location is great. This could be a great place to stay with some decent upgrades or better management.

My mother and I stayed here while visiting Canmore. It was the Labor Day holiday and every hotel we called was booked so the hotel we had stayed at the previous night told us they had a room available here. Evidently, both the Georgetown Inn and Banff Boundary Lodge have the same owner. BBL is self check in, no one in the office at 8pm when we arrived after a long day. THIS PLACE WAS DISGUSTING!!! There was mold in and around the shower and bathroom countertops, the sink faucets were corroded and filthy, the freezer had so much ice buildup that it extended into the refrigerator. And the dust. This was truly epic as the place looked like it hadn't been dusted for well over a year! There were actual hanging chains of dust buildup on the ceiling fans (which didn't work anyway) in both bedrooms. Further, the dishwasher in the kitchen had molded old food in the drain - no way you would wash any dishes in that thing! The stove and oven were filthy as well and even the microwave was covered with dust! The grounds were unkempt with trash, plastic and glass in the firepit. Had there been ANYWHERE else to stay, my mom and I would've walked out immediately even at 8:00 at night. I contacted the Georgetown Inn and asked to speak with the owner. A man by the name of Scott called back, I explained the condition of the room and offered to send him the numerous photos I took. He didn't even want to look at them! Wow! I rarely write a negative review but this place was SO horrible I feel it is my duty to warn the general public. Beware!

Room tip: Don't stay if you need A/C. There isn't any.

We stayed at Banff Boundary Lodge September 17 and 18, 2017.
The location was great, however the kitchen had no mugs, plates or forks, not what we expected. I called the number provided spoke with a agent, they where going to get us items, she said she would call back, no call, no dishes. I called back in the am, there is no local cafe or store, finally cups and plates 3 for 6 people and still no forks. We purchased paper and plastic that day, we thought we would cook pizza and wings, the oven was broken.
The unit also needed a good cleaning, the bathroom and ceiling fans were coated in dust. I was very disappointed and I called again asked yo speak to a manager, they said they would call back in 15 min. It is 24 hours latter and I have not heard from them.
I also emailed Waymaker that manages this property again 24 hours and have not heard back.
If you expect a nice equipped unit and the ability to have a tea or coffee when you get in, I recommend you purchase cups prior to heading to your unit.

Stayed with family in July. The accomodation is located well for travel within the rockies. The apartment was simple and basic but had everything you could need. My only complaint would be the noise from the highway but that is unavoidable.

The hotel is only 10 min drive from Banff downtown and located just off the highway. The unit was equipped with a large living room and a full kitchen which were very convenient for the family. We had to call the hotel to get our unit number and door code the day before since they were not provided to us 24 hours prior to our arrival.
