My mother and I stayed here while visiting Canmore. It was the Labor Day holiday and every hotel we called was booked so the hotel we had stayed at the previous night told us they had a room available here. Evidently, both the Georgetown Inn and Banff Boundary Lodge have the same owner. BBL is self check in, no one in the office at 8pm when we arrived after a long day. THIS PLACE WAS DISGUSTING!!! There was mold in and around the shower and bathroom countertops, the sink faucets were corroded and filthy, the freezer had so much ice buildup that it extended into the refrigerator. And the dust. This was truly epic as the place looked like it hadn't been dusted for well over a year! There were actual hanging chains of dust buildup on the ceiling fans (which didn't work anyway) in both bedrooms. Further, the dishwasher in the kitchen had molded old food in the drain - no way you would wash any dishes in that thing! The stove and oven were filthy as well and even the microwave was covered with dust! The grounds were unkempt with trash, plastic and glass in the firepit. Had there been ANYWHERE else to stay, my mom and I would've walked out immediately even at 8:00 at night. I contacted the Georgetown Inn and asked to speak with the owner. A man by the name of Scott called back, I explained the condition of the room and offered to send him the numerous photos I took. He didn't even want to look at them! Wow! I rarely write a negative review but this place was SO horrible I feel it is my duty to warn the general public. Beware!
