Congratulations, another cafe has done it again, pretended to cook for large sums of money. Went to Toscaninis with some friends, they were great company, otherwise the night would have been terrible, we all order the seafood platter for 2, well the only thing recognizable was the chips, the salad was soggy and limp, seemed to have been dressed hours earlier, fish, which was whiting, was cooked beyond recognition, the homemade tartare was watery and tasted odd, prawns and calarmari where so small it was hard to taste their individual tastes and I'm sure the one oyster we were given each had been cut in half to make it go further, but that was hard to tell because it was so overcooked that it just sprang between your teeth.
You are better of staying at home, a frozen meal would have more taste.

Tried Toscanini's for a Friday brunch for two at around 11am. The good news - you can order breakfast till 2:00pm or thereabouts. The bad news - went to order but went to the wrong counter. The coffee guy said "gotta go to cashier" - no charm, no "sorry but please go to the counter over there", just rude. There was no-one at the order counter. Eventually the girl who had been standing next to the coffee guy moved across to take order. Why couldn't the coffee guy have to her "X, please look after this guy". One of the menu items included a "juice". I asked for an apple juice but was told "only orange juice" was included. I said why doesn't the menu say "includes an orange juice"? In the end common sense prevailed and I was allowed to include an apple juice (why do they make it so difficult?). Our bill was $70 (including a glass of wine each).

The food came but with no cutlery and no drinks. A seagull also took off with my breakfast before I had a mouthful - constant eye thereafter! The waitress went off and brought back cutlery and serviettes. It was another 5 minutes before the juices and wine cam, and then one juice was missing. No water was provided. The eggs were semi-warm and there was shell in one of them.
Went back in and ordered coffees - it took 20 minutes for them to arrive. The one waitress was friendly.

Maybe this place is okay for a coffee and cake but not for a meal - not recommended!
