Stayed two nights, Our building was a blast from the past but in need of repair we were a bit reluctant to drink the water stored from the asbestos roof...however there was a filter on one of the taps...could be very cold in winter....Very remote place 30 k from bitumen and it was wet so road access was not for small or low vehicles...
It was an exciting thing to do and we had a great time....brush up on your scrabble as there is no TV ... internet ....mobile reception and a weak radio signal.

Room Tip: Go in the warmer months

Dear olivoil,

We’re pleased that you had such a great time at Cape Borda! However, we are sorry to hear that you noted a need for repairs in your cottage and were concerned about the water. We hope that you were able to find the time to speak to our staff so that any maintenance issues could be rectified and so that you could be reassured about the quality of the drinking water. Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay at Cape Borda!

A couple of nights at Cape Bourda Lighthouse is a different kind of an experience. No need to find the torch as the light shines through the little cottage four times with a twenty second break. We were there in the first week of May and shared our night with the Ranger in his neighbouring house, the Light and the animals. Very docile kangaroos. The cottage is nicely equipped but take your own "amusements" and all food. You are wonderfully removed from it all!! Make sure you have a tour of the Lighthouse and walk in the nearby park.

Room Tip: There is only one room, a bathroom and an adjoining toilet undercover on the porch.

Throw the norm out the window and try something exceptional, there is a million dollar view of the Lighthouse beacon from the window at night. Sunsets are dramatic and colourful, spectacular photography, sunrise has muted pinks and mauves.... it is peaceful and soulful just to be at Cape Borda. The Roo's hang out from late afternoon, and watching the mother's feed their Joey's is a privilege. There is something magical about Cape Borda, try the silence, feel the peace, enjoy the pristine beauty of the wilderness, it is unique. I spent seven weeks on K.I. in a wide range of accommodation, but the Woodward Hut was the highlight of my holiday, I stayed for 8 days, it worked for me! I take my hat off to Mick & Trevor, two great guys.

Our second stay in the lighthouse hut at Cape Borda over Easter did not disappoint. The basics were all there plus friendly keepers (& wildlife) on arrival, solitude as the only guests overnight, serenity overlooking the majestic ocean, beautiful wilderness walks through Harvey's return and Ravine des Cassoars, and more of the relaxation that runs deep at cape Borda.
We can't wait to return. Thankyou.

A wonderful place, so quiet and peaceful yet full of interesting history and gorgeous views. The sunset was magnificent. House was clean and well presented with loads of space. The Ranger was very welcoming and had a wealth of information about early shipping to Australia. Kangaroos everywhere. Absolutely memorable.
