In the middle of nowhere on winding roads through quaint little towns and you stumble of this place. It is a revelation. The absolute poster child for an upscale, swish boutique hotel.
I couldn't say enough good things about it. It is a destination hotel as there is not much of anything around there (except maybe for San Sebastian 45 minutes away or so).
Very romantic.

Boutique hotels do not get any better than this. Faultless, stylish, friendly, polished, stunning, edgy, I could go on. It's very rare that you find hotels that get absolutely everything right, from the immaculate renovation and brilliant contemporary / classic mix of design and interior, to the effortless warmth and service of the staff to the best meal that I have had for many years - don't underestimate the food here, it is world class top end.

We spent 5 nights in this lovely place. It is situated in a very calm, green and hilly area. The hotel has been renovated, with all the modern comfort appliances and in excellent taste. Our room was a Superior room, very spacious and well decorated, with a lovely chimney, not that we needed it in summer, but beautiful all the same. Buffet breakfast was very well served. It was especially pleasant to sit outside. The garden is full of wonderful trees, and very well kept.
The trip to San Sebastian is quite short, it took us around 25 minutes. And there are many interesting things to do in the area (Basque Country)
Since the hotel is not in a city, it is very convenient that it has both a restaurant and a bar, so if you decide to stay for the day, you can eat there.
My only critique to the place, is that the smell of food being made in the kitchen stays in the lobby (I'm sensitive to smell) and that it could be completely perfect if it had a swimming pool!

Room Tip: If you are willing to pay a little more, ask for a Superior room.

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night as part of a three week trip through France and into Northern Spain. Frankly, we couldn't fault it. The whole building has been refurbished to a high standard in a contemporary style which compliments the original building perfectly. Both the room and the ensuite bathroom were excellent, as was the service from the staff. The hotel is in its own grounds and the setting, in the Midi-Pyrenees, is very scenic and quiet, almost like being in Switzerland. The hotel is part of the 'Relais du Silence' group of hotels and that is just what we got inside and outside the hotel (apart from the distant sound of cowbells in the meadows on the other side of the valley...how annoying!) We had dinner in the evening which was first class and, given the standard of the hotel, not excessively expensive. Breakfast was also one of the best we have had in an hotel. Not the cheapest place we've stayed, but good value for a lovely experience. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Room Tip: The hotel is a LITTLE bit tricky to find by car, but well signposted once you get near.

A truly stunning hotel. Very simple in terms of amenities, but in every other regard a fantastic place. The building, the renovation, the setting are all top notch. The service, while relaxed, is bang on. And to top it off one of the best dinners I've eaten in a while. Thank you.

Fantastic hotel, nicely refurbished with a mix of modern and old.
Staf was very nice and the location is nice and quiet.
I missed a pool, but everything else was just perfect.
If you are in the area in the Sanish Pyrenees, this is absolutely a hotel to consider.

We booked this hotel to end our two week drive through the North of Spain in order to unwind.
The hotel was not easy to find as the village is only announced when you are almost there! I would not recommend driving there for the first time at night! The entrance is very nicely decorated as is the dining room. The bedroom was spacious and clean. The beds however were not very comfortable. We had opted for two single beds -joined- but as the matresses were not of equal hight/quality this was not very comfortable. The fact that the rooms (on the second floor) only have a very tiny window it is not very nice to spend time in the room during the day. I was a bit disappointed that the bathroom was equipped with only a shower - and the shower head was not very efficient - as I had expected better for a four star hotel.
The sun deck was a nice place to sit - when the sun was shining - but it is a pity that the wall in front of you takes away the view. A swimming pool would have been a nice addition to relax as this place is after all quite far away from everything.
The dinner at night was delicious and the waiter was very professional.Breakfast is very nice, just a pity that the coffee was only the expresso type with a lot of foam instead of milk, but this is a question of personal taste.
In short, a nice hotel, maybe slightly overpriced for the quality/service, for those who love the country side away from the city.

Room Tip: Maybe the first floor is a better choice re the windows. make sure you enquire about bath/shower.
