Planning our trip to Tenerife I didn't want to miss a kind of cooking
class we usually take to learn the typical cuisine. Meantime we would
like to visit any kind of winery to see how everything arranged there.
I checked Bodega Monje's website and found out that we could easily
combine both options - we booked Taller de Mojos (for 2, 49
euro) which includes excursion around the Bodega, the class of mojos (chefs are great!) +
degustation of Monje's wines + snacks.
We rent a car and got to Bodega without problems - they installed
'bodega' signs to keep the right way. We were the only visitors
there (Friday noon) and that was really nice to spend all the time
without any crowds of tourists though I was afraid to find there buses
with enotourists or lots of people wishing to enjoy the view from the
terrace and delicious food at the restaurant.
Yurena, our guide, was very nice and friendly, gave us time to see
everything and even took pictures of us (our camera) while Taller de

time at the terrace enjoing the view at the bodega's properties and
the ocean - Autopista Norte can be seen from the terrace yet you won't
hear any sound of it - it's beautiful!
Our visit to Bodega was followed by lunch at the restaurant -
incredible food, the taste of Hollera wine is still in my memory,
service, atmosphere - everything was just perfect! Adn one more moment
- while on Tenerife we were searching for the real Canaria papas
negras, and it was Bodega Monje where we tried the real papas, not
a kind of substitute for tourist which is normally served in cafes and
Nice bonus is a shop where you can buy all kinds of wine and
