A lot of thought and effort has gone into The Old School Bistro and it shows. Breakfasts are tasty and as healthy or indulgent as you choose, all served with great coffee. Lunches can be unhurried and a good mix of light choices. Evening dinner is just superb - a small number of choices, prepared and presented beautifully. The interior decor is lovely, the courtyard terrace area is glorious on warm days, the service is good and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the produce. We last went for a large birthday celebration and had a wonderful evening and I have also used the bistro during the day for informal business meetings as the wifi is a real bonus.

Really enjoyed our meal, good quality and tasty, no complaints. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff attentive, but not overbearing. Loved the use of the crockery, although have to say the rack of lamb in a bowl is a little odd? Surely a plate would make it easier to eat. We will return again before the end of the year.

We are local people who are thrilled to have this bistro in the village. It is a delight for us to be able to walk to the bistro. Even if we had to drive, due to the excellent menu, the service and the ambience and decor, this would definitely be a "go to" restaurant for us. We are so proud of Steve and Vernon's work in creating this jewel of a restaurant !

We were looking for something special to celebrate my mother-in-laws 70th birthday. This was the place. From the moment we walked in until we left the team of staff were amazing, very attentative, especially towards our 8 year old daughter and nothing was too much trouble. We were a table of four. The table was ours for the night so it was great that we didn't have to rush our meal to make way for the next diners. Although there wasn't a children's menu, our daughter was given a super choice of child friendly meals and had beautiful garlic bread as a starter followed by a massive portion of special sausages, chips and peas and loved it. all the meals presented beautifully and uniquely, the chips coming in their own mini version of a frying basket and the sauces in miniature cups. we loved the food, it was hot and very delicious and cooked to perfection. The only fault was with me, I was too full to try out the delicious sounding puds. I will definitely be returning to try one of those out. The atmosphere was very relaxed and in lovely surroundings. I have enjoyed the room during the day as a cafe but it became a completely different wonderful experience by night, lit up with lovely little lights and candles. This is a place that anybody could eat for any occasion, birthday, family, couples rec. Can't wait to come again.

Lunch or evening meal we have been a few times and the fresh food and friendly service is unmarked by anything else in the local area. Fab little courtyard which is great, weather permitting. Decorated in the shabby-chic style, cant fault it.. worth booking as they can be very busy even midweek.
