The food was pleasant but average i would have enjoyed some deserts that were interesting . There was no ambience and the uncomfortable seating dose'nt intice diners to linger .However the staff were very pleasant.

Was introduced by a friend as " The Polish restaurant". I had not experienced Polish food before, so was a bit reserved on this visit as it was for a special anniversary. No need to be concerned. The food was superb. Wine list is small but we enjoyed our selection. Was driving so did not try the vodka. We had a very enjoyable evening.
Our only complaint was the speed that we were "processed", took away some of what otherwise would have been a five star experience. Plates were removed before we had finished eating and a wine glass was removed before the glass was empty. Needs some staff training.

Topor is known as "that Polish place" in Plimmerton - a delightful seaside village 20km north of Wellington. It's more than a cafe: it's a fine dining restaurant with a unique and welcoming atmosphere. The Polish cuisine is often a fusion with NZ style and it's loved by locals and visitors alike. The bigos casserole is a standard but personally my favorites are the kielbasa Polish sausage and the Polish gnocci with a capsicum sauce. The desserts are also to die for! In keeping with the theme they offer a wide range of Polish beers and vodkas (try the herbal Zubrovka!) - and even have loyalty cards for the vodka drinkers! Stefan and his team provide a great service too. Warmly recommended.

We went here not knowing what to expect at all! We had never tried Polish (or any other form of Eastern European) cuisine before and were a little apprehensive. However, any doubts we had were quickly put to rest. Our waiter explained the menu and suggested foods to suit our taste. We started with the anti-pesto platter which was phenomenal! I had the beef with noodles and my girlfriend had the duck, both of which were superb. We finished with the apple & caramel tart which was the icing on the cake! The wine selection is small but well and appropriately chosen. If you're around Wellington I would highly recommend a trip to Topor!

The Polish menu wasn't scary at all. This was our first time here. It has a great vibe and the food delicious. I had the chicken dish and the light gravy was the highlight . Yum Our table also had the stew and the gnocchi - everyone replete! Recommend the panacotta dessert or the apple pie. Reasonable prices a real gem. We'll be back
