Just spent a week at the Beach Club Son Parc with my 9 year old daughter and partner. We had a really good time and would recommend it.Its got a relaxed and civilised atmosphere with mostly Spanish and Italian guests.A nice pool with a pool cafe/bar and no problem getting a sunbed by the pool most days.A really nice outdoor Jacuzzi too, which has bubbles and jets that come at you from all directions! A little bit annoying that they sometimes had pop songs blaring out from speakers by the pool a little too often..mainly when the kids club was on......but wasn't too bad and there were periods of lovely silence too!
There is a well stocked mini supermaket on site and the beach is just a stones throw away which has lovely shallow clear water on a sandy bed.I would reccomend hiring one of the pedaloes that have a slide on them...they are great fun. There is also a hidden little sheltered cove on the other side of the prominitory that the hotel sits on which is only 5 mins walk from the hotel and is superb for snorkeling.
The buffet food was varied and healthy and the staff and especially chef were very helpful with my daughters need for a strict gluten free diet. The balcony eating area has stunning views across the bay with which to enjoy your meal with.It was worth paying all inclusive for, and who wants to cook on holiday anyway! There is also a nice restaurant on site over looking the bay.
The apartment was cleaned every other day and was basic but clean and modern. There were a few little ants scurrying about but found that if you made sure you swept up any crumbs of food they never became a problem. The kids club were very engaging with the kiddies and were a fun bunch that included the adults too.The evening entertainment was mostly in Spanish or Italian and was a little cheesy but good fun none the less. Not a lot else to do here really except for swap between eating or relaxing by the pool or on the beach or snorkelling.Which suited us fine! But you could walk 10-15 mins to the main little bit of the town which has a small "strip" with a few bars and eateries.
I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing mellow clean friendly stay, which has everything you could want right on your doorstep. The buses ran only in the day time and are cheap and air conditioned, but we didn't feel the need to go anywhere really...just into Mahon once.My tip would be too not be ripped off by your travel agent in letting them arrange transfers for you..we were....but found that a taxi was only 34 euros from the Mahon....we were charged four times that for our transfer on a bus by our travel agent to arrange in advance and had to make lots of stops too.Just jump in a cab! Also we found that we thought air conditioning was included in the full board package but it turned out we had to pay 7 Euros a day extra for this.
