The Gasthof is located on a quiet side street across from the Bruck train station and next to a rushing river. There is plenty of free parking onsite and a garage for storing bicycles along with a tire pump. We had a basic double full board, all of which was very reasonably priced. The room had creaky floors and drab decorations; one mattress was a bit too soft, the other a bit too hard, but it was very clean, and when the windows were closed, we hardly heard any noise from the trains (there weren’t many anyway).

The set menu dinner was excellent and the portions very big. Service in general was very friendly. Breakfast included a very good selection of food, but the dining room was dimly lit and we would have appreciated the windows being closed as it was a bit too cool inside. The hotel has a sauna on the property enclosed in a giant wine cask which you can reserve and a nice sitting area nearby; there is also a children’s park.

If it had been possible I would have given this hotel 4.5 stars; all in all very good value.

On a cool, rainy, miserable night in high summer my wife and I stayed for one night.

Good points...a characterful traditional building, helpful and friendly staff and an excellent continental buffet breakfast.

Not so good...noise transmission from room to room - it was possible to clearly hear guests talking in the adjacent bedroom, and no bedside lamps - the only light was a central ceiling light with a single switch near the door.

Sandra and Michel an enthousiastic Dutch couple bring new swinging and lively atmosphere in a traditional hotel. The hotel is in the village Bruck Grossglocknerstrasse. In summer a start for the famous high alpine road in winter only a few minutes drive of the Zell am See skipiste. Skibus right om front of the hotel. Also the trainstation opposite of the road

Real Family hotel like You find them every where in Austria. But this is so near the highest mountain the Grossglockner from Austria. We had a beautiful view on the snowtops. The service is very good also the food and drinks. Parking is in front of the hotel even busstop and trainstation. We liked it very much.

We recently stayed at the Gasthof hotel when having gotten off at Bruck railway station on a snowy night night, with 2 children and no accommodation booked, the Gasthof appeared like a fairy tale house shining gently in the snow, directly across from the station! And it had rooms available! And not only that, it was really comfortable, with gorgeous traditional dining areas and great food. Oliver and his staff were incredibly helpful with everything from organising activities to calling for an ambulance when my husband got sick(hopefully that is not something he needs to do often!) We would have loved to have stayed longer and enjoyed all the beautiful scenery in the area. We recommend this hotel for your stay.
