Strange way to start a review I know, but when on holiday with a rental car one can't afford to drink and drive! So finding this lovely B&B was an added bonus as we had been recommended this restaurant by some foodie friends.
This is a lovely B&B in a gorgeous English country cottage - Aga & conservatory.
Although the bathrooms are not ensuite - they are not shared and each room has its own private one. Everything is thought of and as a guest you want for nothing - parking on site and a quite stroll to the best food in Britain ( other than Breakfast here!0
Many thanks

What a lovely bed and breakfast, from the friendly welcome, own bathrooms and well furnished rooms you are in for a treat if you can get to stay at this delightful home.
From the moment you walk through the door you are made to feel very special, freshly warmed scones, home made jam and clotted cream.

Breakfast overlooking the pretty garden, free range eggs and copious amounts of freshly
brewed coffee. A gem, our recommendation is to book early.

My husband and I booked to spend one night during his two moor way walk. I can not begin to speak highly enough of the very warm and friendly welcome, this was a complete and unadulterated pleasure from the moment we stepped through the front door. This is a truly beautiful home, immaculate and spacious, and we were made to feel extremely welcome and at home. Our wonderful room, one of only two was very well presented, linen of value and ample towels. The room was well stocked with refreshments, biscuits and even chocolate. We were handed a jug of milk and invited to more if we needed it.
The only possible downside would be that the bathroom is shared with another room, although on our stay we were the only guests. The bathroom, unfortunately with only a shower, is beautiful and well stocked with shower toiletries.
Breakfast........ a wonderful experience, served in the beautiful conservatory overlooking the pretty garden;there was more than plenty on offer, a full breakfast range accommpanied by a healthy English Cooked Breakfast, wonderful free range eggs and plenty of fresh coffee....... we didnt want to leave. Would we come back? trust me, if we can find a way to get him across the two moors way again, then we will be back ! fantastic first class service. Thank you so much.

Rosemary cottage is a lovely B&B. The house itself is a pretty cottage set in one of the prettiest villages in Devon, well all 20 houses or so in the village are nice!
We were welcomed in and presented with tea and cakes in the lovely sunny garden which Sara is only to happy to share with you, which you dont get at many B&Bs.

The room itself is larger than average and has at least a queens size bed in it which is great. The only thing you could say is missing is that it is a private bathroom not an en-suite, but when there are at most 2 rooms let at the same time and they each have their own bathroom, this really isnt a problem! And the quality and feel of the rooms more than make up for this.

The Masons Arms in the village won pub of the year in 2010 and does very nice food, if a little expensive, £22 for a main course. It isnt a stuffy restaurant though and dont worry about wearing your walking boots if you are doing the Two Moors Way like us, as that really isnt a problem.
On the evenings they are closed Sara offers to cook dinner which is great if you dont have a car, and also offers to supply lunch if you need if as there isnt a shop in the village from which you can pick up your daily supplies.
This just shows how keen she is for you to enjoy your stay with her and be able to enjoy the lovely room and great scenery.

Rosemary Cottage is located in Knowstone, a pretty Devon village close to Exmoor National Park. The cottage is a traditional thatched building, with a lovely conservatory and garden. This is a great place to stay if you want to park the car and relax.
We received a warm welcome from Liz & David, who are very helpful with maps and directions for local walks. Liz even provides a packed lunch for walkers. The Two Moors Way goes through the village.
An excellent breakfast is served in the conservatory. Nice and peaceful, as separate tables are allocated to each room.
There are two rooms, both with private bathrooms. We booked the double, and were very pleased with the room and facilities. We really appreciated the 'real milk' and bottled water provided in the mini fridge on the hallway.
If you love your food, do not miss the The Mason's Arms in the village. The owner was 12 years as the head chef at Michel Roux's Waterside Inn.
