We visited on a Saturday lunchtime. We received a warm welcome from the one of the bar staff. We were offered the opportunity to eat in the restaurant or in the bar. We choose a table in the bar.
The menu is nice and varied with an additional specials board. We ordered at the bar and we were given a numbered paddle. Our food arrived in good time, was immaculately presented and cooked perfectly.
The atmosphere in the bar was just right with background music at a suitable level.
All the staff were smartly dressed, very helpful and friendly.
We will certainly be returning very soon for another great experience.
The pub is located beside the Grand Western Canal and has its own access to the tow path.

Wide choice of food placed at reasonable prices. Rustic surroundings with a good ale house atmosphere. Outside temperature on the day was very cold and the in-house heating could not keep up with it but this is a one off.

Ha d a night at the Globe this week, for those who want to stay in a good local with lots of friendly staff & locals this is the place to stay. I stayed here with my boss for one night, I rang beforehand & they ensured he had a four poster bed at the rear of the pub as they said this would be very quite. I was put in a room at the front of the pub which has a road running passed it, until 7.00/7.30 all ways quite nice room good shower & the bed was to die for. If you are looking for rooms that you would find in a chain hotel/pub this is not the place for you as its rooms don’t have square corners & it’s not all plastic.
I spend loads of time away from home & to me this was like a home from home. Made to feel welcome, local speak to you & last by no means lest, we had the best food I have had for a long time. If you stay here make sure you are hungry. I will be staying again as it’s one of the best pub’s I have stayed in.
Thank you Globe Inn for a very nice evening & stay.

Looked up reviews before visiting, took a chance. Very glad we went. Good beers, warm friendly atmosphere, comfortable seating, excellent menu and special board.
Hadnt had a steak for a while, tender, moist, full of flavour, brilliant. Companion had the large pork chop, liked the root vegetables, moist chop, not chewy at all.
We will be back for a return visit.
Good place to stop if walking/cycling the Great Western Canal.
Large car park, backing directly against the canal.

We ate at the Globe on a damp Sunday evening, and so not surprisingly the room was almost empty apart from a family party. We both chose salads - goats cheese, and chichen and chorizo, both good-looking and tasty. However, the overly bright lighting served to highlight the rather over-glam furnishings - pubs should stick to being pubs! The slightly sticky plastic-covered menus were also a little off-putting, and I'm always suspicious of a menu offering too much choice. A smaller regular menu and a larger specials board give you more confidence that the food will be freshly prepared, but again I must emphasise that our meals were good. Service was quick and efficient, and the coffee was great too

Having read a poor review recently, we nearly did not go to The Globe. How glad we decided to try it for ourselves. The food was very good and very good value or money. Staff attentive and friendly. We could not fault it and would definitely return.

My family and I called in for a meal whilst visiting friends in the area. We dined quite early on a Friday evening as we have children. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was fantastic. Superb quality and imaginative presentation. Never before have I eaten such a delicious salad. Chips were served in a mini, chip-pan basket on the side of the plate. Faultless!
