This is a good little hotel within easy reach of the coast and the Axe Estuary. Friendly and helpful staff provide clean, comfortable accommodation and a good breakfast. The rooms just a lack something to make them pretty and homely rather than comfortable and functional.

I arrived on a cold and wet evening in February and immediately received a warm and friendly welcome from the owners both of whom couldn't do enough for us during our stay . I felt right at home from that first greeting. I booked this hotel as I really liked the website that had plenty of photographs of the rooms, it was the clean and contemporary decoration that caught my eye, it looked airy and comfortable with lovely design schemes. And so it was. Comfortable beds, lovely ensuite shower room, although how you remember to pull the loo handle up for a short flush completely defeats me!! but a great water saving idea nevertheless. The breakfast was very good as was the dinner we enjoyed on our last night. Excellent food, freshly cooked and a good bottle of wine which was definitely not over priced. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The only slight downside was the closeness of the main road, but the traffic at night was minimal and certainly did not disturb my sleep. I would most definitely come and stay here again and hope to do so later in the year.

Room Tip: If you are a very light sleeper request one of the side rooms away from the road.

Decided to stay overnight here at Swallows Eaves Hotel rather than standard Guest House B&B, I'm so glad i did!! Easy to find & plenty of parking.
Will definitely book here again when visiting family in the area.

Room Tip: ground floor-twin beds-shower-internet access-so ideal if elderly or disabled

Apologies for late review

Stayed here August BH weekend as a late booking.
Room next to reception which had two single beds instead of a double...not their fault...I left my booking too late!!!. Room layout was explained at time of booking so not a problem at all

Ate in the restaurant attached...very good food, and good service
Lovely hostess who took time to chat to us after dinner

We had an enjoyable couple of nights at the Swallows Eves hotel. The great hospitality and good food are something we experienced on our first stay a few years ago, but since then the hotel has received a substantial face lift, all of the rooms and all facilities are now of a high standard. Although the weekend was part of a pre Christmas deal we were in fact able to enjoy a warm and sunny afternoon at nearby Sidmouth which was a bonus. We would certainly recommend the hotel and will probably be staying there again ourselves in the future.

Had a lovely few days relaxation in Devon before the silly season and the Swallows Eaves was the perfect place to do so. Our room was comfortable and very cosy with a good size ensuite. Service was excellent throughout and the food was exceptional. We would certainly recommend and return ourselves in future. Thank you.
