Had lunch at the Gallie Craig after a scenic drive drive down the peninsula from our holiday cottage. Name is a bit of a misnomer - this is much more than a coffee shop, serving a variety of freshly-prepared hot meals and snacks. A wonderful venue, with spectacular views in all directions, a variety of walks right from the car park, and the lighthouse and RSPB visitor centre right next door - the latter, in particular, is well worth a visit, with enthusiastic and engaging staff ready to answer any and all questions on the local wildlife. The views from the restaurant are spectacular, the wildlife amazing, the food beautifully prepared and very tasty, and the service friendly and efficient. This has become a regular trip for us during holidays in the Rhins; the cafe's opening hours vary according to the season, so make sure you check before going, but trust us - it's worth it.
