Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: The Mull of Galloway is Scotland's most southerly point and is one of its least known areas, remaining an unspoiled paradise for visitors seeking peace and tranquility. We hope you will enjoy your visit and discover for yourself the beautiful countryside, beaches, splendid views and warm climate. Climb Scotland's most southerly Lighthouse, visit our Lighthouse Exhibition, RSPB reserve and Gallie Craig coffee house. Visit our website for seasonal opening times and to plan your visit. We also have three former Lighthouse Keepers' holiday cottages available for holidays or short breaks throughout the year. Dumfries and Galloway has recently been voted Holiday Destination of the Year by BBC Countryfile Magazine.

Took a trip with some friends to the Mull and although it does not open until April it is still well worth a visit. RSPB has hired someone to improve all the dyking in the area and it is a work of art. Lot os kittiwakes and guillimots are back plus some gannets. We even saw two kestrels. Gallie craig is open as well (not Thursday and Friday yet) and their cheese burgers and lemon meringue pies are just great. When we were there the Isle of Man was a bit hazy but we could see the Mountains of Mourne across in Northern Ireland.

On the road up to the Mull there are lots of sheep with lambs - so cute to see them just jumping for joy!

This makes a lovely day out even if you do not want to pay the entrance fee to go into the lighthouse. Unfortunately it became very foggy when we visited however the walk is still very nice and at breaks in the mist we had a very nice view over the sea. There are plenty information boards around the grounds and the cafe is very good.

First class accommodation, and a great base from which to explore both the Rhinns of Galloway and the surrounding area. Enjoy peace and quiet, waves and breathtaking views. A fab holiday!

It's here. It's beautiful. And you can stay.

Go for the views and stay for the experience. You can walk, you can go to the nearby beaches or amazing gardens. But the best is staying inside, cozy while the weather rages outside.

And the views! Have I told you about the views? Sea till you can't see no further, The Lake District to Southeast, Isle of Man to Southwest and N.Ireland to West (on a clear day...)

Absolutely Splendid!

Beautiful place to visit with outstanding scenery on the way and fabulous views once you arrive. On good days you can see for miles and miles in every direction. If you are unlucky with the weather its still worth the visit - you actually appreciate the purpose and history of the place even more. Decent café for a plate of soup with lovely views from there too. The visitor centre is adequate but no more than that.
