“Clean and Good Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2014

I had the opportunity to stay in this hotel when it was fairly new sometime in 2010/2011.

Rooms then were spanking new and clean, including the sheets and the television sets. Price was also on promo so it was fairly a bargain. Service is above average although they only had one elevator (then).

The restaurant though is a letdown with poor menu and crampy atmosphere, but considering the price and the location where dining-out is a far better option - then this is something forgivable.

I never had the chance to return to this hotel though since then so I do not know if things improved or got worse (see Almont Hotel, Butuan as alternative).

Reception is professional with quick accurate service. The room was clean with good wi-fi reception, clean sheets, clean towels and clean bathroom. AC is old style but adequate. The room has a table and chairs with fast efficient room service.

The restaurant is fine with average food typical of most Filipino restaurants.

I stayed in the Prince Hotel for four days in early July. I had no concerns with the hotel. The restaurant provided a comprehensive menu and reasonable prices. As mentioned by other reviewers, the hotel is almost next door to McDonalds, and Dunkin Donuts and Jolibee are a very short distance from the hotel. The room and bathroom were clean, and the aircon in my room was extremely efficient. There is minimal traffic noise and the staff are polite and professional. It does have a very slow and very busy elevator, and that might deter some potential guests, particularly someone with physical problems. The fourth floor room was no problem to go up and down the stairs, however if I was on the seventh floor I might have formed a different opinion.

Room Tip: Consider a lower floor, as you will probably be using the stairs a lot, as the elevator is very busy...

I stayed one night in this hotel on my way between camiguin and siargao.
The room is very spacious and the room service was very good and fast, though they add 10% service charge ...
I think the room was a little bit pricey, but for 1 night stay it was ok.
During the night i expercienced little bite in the bed, but luckily i had my insect killer with me. I experienced this many times already when i was traveling in Mindanao ...

I had passed the Prince Hotel and had not realized it. One day as I passed on the bus I noticed their banner advertising their single room rate. I really did not expect much from this hotel (due to the low cost). I elected to stay in their single room for a few nights-----while it was small, it was not an issue. The internet service was FAST and RELIABLE. A few days later I upgraded to the Family room and stayed with my wife, daughter, and brother in law. When you arrive at the Prince Hotel you are quickly greeted by security guards and attended to by a bellman who is eager to assist you. You are then checked in by the very attractive and friendly front desk attendants. The attendants provide some of the BEST customer service that I have encountered here in the Philippines. The rooms were exceptionally clean (thanks to Maria). It is true that the elevator is slow, it really wasn't an issue.........I was also very pleased with the quality and quantity (and price) of their meals........Key advantages of this hotel is that the Bachelor Express bus stops at the overpass and you can safely walk to the Prince in less than a minute. If you continue to walk past the Prince you can reach places such as the 24hr Jolliebee/McDonalds/Inasal/Dunkin Doughnuts (less than a minute). There is a pharmacy next door and you can purchase your snacks......THANK YOU PRINCE HOTEL.......The best place to stay in Butuan.......Mark Hylland

Room Tip: 305 Family room was nice. 611 Single was nice. Just ask the front desk and/or Maria in housekeeping...

I called the hotel a week before my arrival and I chose a room with a matrimonial bed worth Php998 but it has no free breakfast. I called the hotel again 2 days before i arrived just to check my reservation. The frontdesk staff did greet us upon arrival. The bellboy carried our luggage to our room. The room was big but the bathroom was small. The shower was not working well due to low output of water. The room had a CRT TV with defective brightness and Aircondition unit in good condition. The bed was big and not so comfy. The hotel is beside a hospital and a school with only 7 cars that can park. It is near fastfood restaurants and along the main road of Montilla Boulevard. Its just a walking distance to the church and banks.

Clean room, good service, slow elevator so be patient, near mcdo and jollibee 24 hrs. You'll get what you paid for the rates. Overall, average place to stay for 2 to 3 nights.
Near banks, bdo, bpi, security bank. Near mj santos hospital.
