Glad to stay in the place where we are greeted with big smiles and happy faces. Amazed by the place coz its cozy and quite in the in the night, rooms are clean and when you wake up early in the morning to can hear the birds chirping around. room service was bit bad though... but for me going to Butuan to relax this resort is highly recommended.

I stayed at this hotel from feb16-22 2012.I must say that i have never seen better hospitality/service at ANY hotel that i've ever stayed at in the US!
Their staff was superior!...always with a smile and very respectful/professional yet still with charming sense of humor.
My first night-(morning)I had awakened at 3-a.m due to jet-lag and was amazed that the bar was open and ready to serve! With low-key orchestral music playing in the lounge,it was perfect!
Very clean room(Jr.Suite) and very tranquil/beautiful atmosphere!

Stayed at the hotel from 14 Jan-31 Jan 2012. It is a very good hotel. The hotel is clean and has 24 hour security. The staff was very professional and extremely courteous and would go out of their way to help you. The only negative about the hotel is they do not allow you to bring any food items from out in town on property. The Buffet was not all that good. My fiance', who is a Filipina did not like the Buffet. The food on the menu however was very good and to me not expensive. Our room was great and the Housekeeping Dept did an excellent job cleaning our room. You should bring insect repellant. All in all I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would stay there. Mainly because of the friendleness of the staff. Also there are hot and cold showers.

Room Tip: I recommend staying in a Deluxe Room or a Suite

Came to Butuan for the first time about 4 years ago.Looked at the rooms(which were not jet renovated) and decided to stay at Dotties, since the rooms were a better value. On my second visit I stayed at the Goat Together, which is in close proximity to Gaisano,NO pool but hey clean rooms/internet and cheap! Since then the Almont has renovated its rooms, which are nice now,but paying over 100$ for a suite is overpriced for that town, even with that pool! I did eat at the Almont several times in my visits over the last 4 years, and now I spent more then 6 month here.Unfortunately the food never got better. Its either COLD,or with little taste and always pretty simple! There are better choices for food. But the worst is probably their service! The front desk is very friendly, but dont sit at the pool or restaurant and expect the waiters to come around and clean your plate or god forbid,ASK if you want anything else! So basically YOU have a choice, but not really if you want a great pool and quiet hotel!

Room Tip: 95$ or 116$ for a suite!

You have few choices for a hotel in Butuan and if your seeking a pool, it appears your are limited to just two. The Almont Inland Resort is one of them.

Difficult to book this hotel. I tried many web sites and they kept saying :no rooms available", until I went to asiatravel. I was finally able to book a room. However, when I tried to confirm airport pickup and reservation with the hotel directly via email (3 times) I was never answered. They were there when I arrived at the airport and my pickup went smoothly with the driver taking care of my luggage pickup. Butuan airport is one of those places when you need to retain a porter to get your luggage off the rack.

This property is about 4 kilometers from the center of town, so you will need to take a trike or jeepney to City Center. You will have to walk a ways catch a trike (to the Mall). Make sure you use the hotel's free Airport Pickup. The Taxi prices and outrageous! Lots of great little bakeries in town, so make sure you walk the area..You are a short walk from a mall and a few restaurants.

WIFI Internet was only available in the restaurant, not even in the bar 50 feet away. I actual could get a signal in my room, but only the local network, not the internet.

As mentioned in prior reviews, there are a lot of problems with flies and mosquitoes. Take your DEET if you stay there. Pool was filled with kids over the weekend and there was a birthday party. Very full grounds for the weekend. They did have a great Christmas Tree lighting on Friday night. Good food and drinks were served.

Breakfast was included and had a choice of Continental, American, Philippino or Omelet. Breakfast was good and I was satisfied. The only problem seemed to be getting refills on the coffee (or another beer in the afternoon). Vannessa and Nicole were about the only good servers., the others where just too slow and inattentive. Angie was particularly slow and never smiled. James was surly and rolled his eyes anything anything was requested. Overall the staff was friendly and mostly understood English. They had a buffet lunch and dinner set out, but I never ate there during those times.

Some of the charges for services are rather unbelievable. I can only assume that with little competition, they feel they can take advantage of guests. Some fees are double the costs of better hotels in Manila.

Some outrageous costs: To make a call from your room to a mobile phone: 135 PHP for 3 minutes. Laundry costs for a shirt or shorts: 130 PHP 60 PHP for a pair of socks. I could buy new clothes for some of these prices.

Room Tip: Stay away from the Pool Area or it will get loud with Kid's parties.

Dec. 2011 the remodel of front rooms done and half of the middle room were 80% done, the front rooms they combined two rooms into one doubling the size of room and with price increase they may be overpriced, The room entrance is now in the back of the front buildings with patio facing pool area but no gate through railings. Hotel staff was good as usual and food was fine, nightly dinner buffet was 800-1000PHP. The location is the best about this hotel. My recommendation would be stay here if you don't have transportation and if you do try dotties place. With the remodeling the windows were replaced with sliding glass doors and that did help some of the bug problem but poor construction still leaves some open places bug can get into room.

Room Tip: rooms by the pool can be noisy if pool parties, (kids birthday) are going on, so if you want a front...
