A really nice property, with lovely staff. We stayed here en route to the south for one night in a garden room that was large, clean and very comfortable inside with it's own table and chairs under a veranda outside. A big plus was being able to park our car outside the room in a secure off road location.
Dinner was wonderful served in a delightful dining room, the staff were excellent and the food & wine superb. Breakfast was also one of the best we have encountered on our travels in France
Would definitely recommend staying here, we will certainly return

We stayed here for the food which was very good and the service excellent both at dinner and breakfast. Our room was at the back of the main building and was spacious and comfortable. If you like sleeping with the windows open (there is a/c), there is noise from the road. We had major problems with the wifi, apparently due to interference from the gendarmerie nationale building next door. This also seemed to be the cause of problems on some TV channels.

We have been looking for a new place to stop-over on the drive to the Alps and are pleased to have found Hostellerie Bressane. Cuisery is near the A6 although we stupidly turned the wrong way in Tournus at the first attempt (basic french satnav and via michelin notes not clear). We booked one of the motel rooms off the garden to the rear of the main building. On arrival we parked the car near reception and were guided to our car parking space outside our room. We were pleased to have secure parking and a room away from the road. Our room was large and comfortable, but didn't have the high ceiling and skylights described by another reviewer so the rooms must vary in style.

We enjoyed the gourmet menu in the restaurant, which is comfortable as well described by other reviewers and the service was excellent.

Nathalie, who I think is the manageress, was very efficient when we sent an email to confirm our arrival and book dinner and helped sort out a mistake with our reservation through hotels.com. I think she speaks very good english and was very charming asking all guests at breakfast if there was anything else that the would like.

We had dinner here about 12 years ago. It had just opened and we met the owner/chef who is a Maitre Cuisinaire who had been responsible for training restaurant staff for the Meridien Hotel chain before opening this hostellerie. Our dinner was so wonderful that we vowed to return. We managed to do so this year and found that the hotel has become a real success. It has been expanded four times. It's a real gathering spot for locals. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and the dinner was again, over the top. The signature dish is the local Bresse chicken. Our dessert, consisting of three types of chocolate--a chocolate mousse, a chocolate souffle, and a chocolate sorbet was amazing.

We were looking for a place to stay near Tournus, but didn't want to stay in town. I found this hotel on-line and decided to give it a try, although I had some concerns.....I wasn't sure from the photographs what the rooms would really be like nor could I tell what the restaurant was really like.

As it turns out, we had a great experience. We reserved a room in the garden annex, which seems quite new. Since it is set behind the main house, it was very quiet (and there are some large trucks using the road in front of the hotel). The room was huge, with wood floors and trim, high ceiling, sky light and windows that opened giving lots of fresh air, a large modern bathroom with lovely tile work, free internet, sitting chairs/table and desk and flat screen TV (sadly, with no English stations).

We were greeted nicely when we arrived, shown to our room, and had a table booked for dinner. The dining room is pretty, furnished traditionally and everything about it was much nicer than I could have imagined -- still not sure why something so nice exists in this small town (maybe for the booksellers in the village of books?). Nice decor, lovely table settings, incredible wine list, and nice prix fixe menus. The staff was patient with my high school French, but also seemed to understand and speak a lot more English than I would have expected. We had a very delicious dinner (4 courses that left us gasping for breath), with lovely service, and great wine (the staff was happy to help us select a Maconnais). After dinner, we walked around the deserted old heart of town, which was perfect for digesting!

The next morning, we had a very nice breakfast buffet in the separate breakfast room -- a nice spread with cereals, yogurt, fruit and an egg cooked to order. We were a bit late leaving (waiting for the rain to stop) which led to the front desk calling us (the hotel is closed that day, so they clearly wanted us on our way), but they were very nice about it.

If you're looking for a short detour off the motorway near Tournus, this is a good spot and good value for money, especially for one of the large annex rooms.

L'Hostellerie Bressane possesses every quality of the classic french stop-over hotel. Conveniently located close to one of France's greatest routes, Paris-Lyon-Marseille, yet it is withdrawn in a quaint village.
I took a room in the garden annex which is +/- 15% more expensive than in the main building. The price difference seems worthwhile as it brings you a spacious, comfortable and quiet room with large windows, even if somewhat simple. It has its own patio on the ground floor, and easy access to your car parked in the garden courtyard (an important detail when one is just staying one night on a long drive).
Yet the best feature must be the cuisine. I had an excellent dinner of classic Burgundy fare. If the choice is fairly small (there is something for most tastes) it pays off seen the high quality. And good breakfast.
Correct and curteous service, if somewhat business-like.
