“Definitely not 4 star!!”
Reviewed December 19, 2012 via mobile

Very disappointed. Facilities do not reflect 4 star resort as advertised. It is the resort the furthest away from the small town and you definitely need to hire transport to get around. Did not find staff particularly friendly or helpful. They looked very unprofessional and scruffy. The public area around reception and the kitchen was a mess. Worst breakfast have ever been offered in any hotel. The chalet rooms were ok but not enough space to put things. The beach when we were there was a bit of a mess with rubbish being washed up on the shoreline. If you want isolation ok otherwise don't bother. We booked and paid for three nights but were so disgusted only stayed for one!!

The resort is small, medium priced, at the quiet end of a long strip of beach. There is a narrow road between beach and resort, very quiet, excellent for cycling - flat and stretches for miles in either direction. If you like birds or butterflies, take binoculars. The resort has bikes. The beach has a double row of mature coconut palms and the resort has dotted this with large smooth rocks, and slung hammocks between many of the trunks. As a small resort with capacity somewhere near 50, you don't have to fight for the hammocks! The resort pool is small, but pleasant, just by the restaurant and small bar counter. Breakfast is fine and if the buffet eggs are on the cold side, they will happily fry or boil afresh. Rooms are bungalow type, with private sitting area in front, clean and air conditioned, shower and toilet en suite but open to the elements (above a privacy wall). Mosquitos are the drawback, but come prepared for that - room sprays and personal salves, and being careful when the sun goes down - and the problem need not arise. Run by the owners, delightful staff. Restaurant food not bad. There is a cheerful fish restaurant on the beach less than a kilometre away.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms are worth the little extra

Myself, husband and our 12 year old daughter stayed a couple nights at Rachavadee resort. The area itself is quiet.Judging by the other resorts on Ban Krut beach,Rachavadee was probably one of the better ones.Little bungalows with open air bathrooms & showers were pretty neat.Staff were polite.Pool is small but nice to have on those hot days.Food was a little pricey but very comparable to other places in the area. They have a couple little dogs on site, very friendly and our daughter enjoyed playing with them.We rented a motorcar from the resort for a couple days at 350 baht/day plus fuel. This is not a touristy place at all.A nice break from Bangkok.

Very nice, quiet resort. Great value for money! Very friendly staff, clean, personal, no pretentions, wifi, swimming pool, 10km of beach with hardly anyone on it! Food is fine, not gastronomical, but nice and good value. Come to relax. Bring your own wheels if you want to get away or get a scooter organized by the staff.
A few mosquitos in the evening , beds are a bit hard, sea had pretty high waves at the time we were here, but these are about the only negative points we can think off.

We were trying to book Rachavadee Beach Resort. On their website they encourage people to book directly so we will not have to prepay the full amount in advance but only send 50% deposit, so we booked. At our big surprise we received email asking us to deposit 110% of the total booking cost and not 50% as published. When we send email to the hotel with request to deposit only 50% we received answer the owner she is very strict lady and change the rule… well, ok – we change the hotel. – be aware and bon Vacance !

Idylically located in a little known beach village, this lovely, peaceful resort overlooks a 12km long beach on the Gulf of Thailand. Each bungalow is modern, well designed, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. The cuisine is authentic Thai and is very fresh and beautifully prepared. On the beach are hammocks under the coconut trees where one can relax and enjoy the ocean and serenity. The service is excellent.

It is definitely a tropical paradise!

Rachavadee Beach resort is a wonderful spot
Approx 90 min sth of Huahin Ban Krud is a laid back beautiful beach with minimal amount of farang (foreign) tourists, which is wonderful.
Beutiful long clean beach. The Rachavadee Beach Resort is in fact approx 5km sth of thetownship itself, so if your looking for traquility this is the place to go. There are countless other small resort dotted along the coast line. This resort is beach frontage, although the road is in front of the resort and the beach on th other side, the road is only small, not busy, and you are approx 50 metres from the water to your bungalow.
The front bungalows facing the beach are little more expensive, buyt for 2000 bht a night they are well worth the extra couple of hundred baht.
About 2kms up the road is a great restraunt right on the beach, that serves wonderful fresh seafood dishes.
The resort hires pushbikes, and can organize small motorbikes etc on request.
If your looking for action and night life dont even bother to to come to Ban Krud beach, although Im sure in the town itself there would be something happening.
If you want to relax and gettaway, perfect.
The bungalows are of a good size, though there are no wardrobes in the rooms, but they have area with cot hanger etc which is fine.
Internet wirless available free around the bar/restraunt area.
We only ate breakfast here, which was included and the price, and is ok, nothing special at all.
We also had a buffet dinner, which was on a long weekend , the first time we came here, which again othing special.
But even though, we have come back again, and will come come back more, as the pro's out way the cons by far.
Beach frontage
great beach
great staff
rooms are good
Price is good
Pool is small but OK

Cons
food could be better

Will be back again
Pick up on the food a little guys, and you have a no.1 winner in my books
