I have been to this restaurant twice. It is definitely the worth visiting. Everything is made fresh and tastes superb. The owner is welcoming and helpful. Both times I was there the owner gives a complementary starter. I had the Magret and must say I haven't tasted duck like this absolutely delious!! The speculous dessert is gorgeous. The restuarant is in the middle of a gorge, nestled by the Aude river with spectacular views... Well worth the visit

We were a party of 16 Irish staying in Quillan and had dined badly until the last night of our holiday when we happened on Le Rebenty. The owner was effusive in his welcome and produced a varied home cooked menu to suit all diners. We had a cross section of starters, mains, desserts and tea/coffee for a great €23 per head. Every dish was excellent and the plates cleared. We would urge everyone to eat there. Many thanks, Christophe.

We were staying in the area between 30th June and 11th July. We just popped in one rainy afternoon for a coffee so that we could see what it was like inside and check out the menu. We ate at the restaurant four times. What a treat!! There was always such a very friendly welcome which made us feel like family. Christophe always asking if we had any questions about the menu and explaining things in very good English. No matter how busy the restaurant was, we never had to wait long for our order to be taken or our food to be served. Service was always polite, friendly, attentive, but never intrusive. The menu offers an excellent choice of dishes from the a la carte or set priced menus. We tried several different starters and main courses (including Trout Rebenty - fresh trout caught locally). Everything was superbly cooked and presented by Linda, and portions are very generous. Their desserts are all home made and delicious. Fabulous food at a very reasonable price. One of the highlights of our holiday!! Would recommend booking, especially in high season to ensure that you are not disappointed.

We were staying with relatives in Quillan and agreed to take them out for a meal as a thank you. They chose this restaurant as it was their favourite. However, it was very disappointing for them and us too; given the high praise they had heaped on it prior to going. We ate there for dinner and from the moment we entered it wasn't right. They forgot about us really and took orders off 2 others tables that arrived after us and they forgot to put the bread on the table so we had to ask. The complimentary starters were also an afterthought as the 2 other tables were on their starters before we even got our complimentary starter. Our relatives informed us that the starters portions were huge so people regularly share them but we decided that we weren't going to have any. When we ordered we declined starters but 2 of the party were convinced to have a salad to share on the suggestion of the owner. When the starter arrived we had to ask for another plate. When it was cleared away the owner sarcastically asked if we had finished our starters, oh no, your starter. It wasn't a jokey comment either, his english is superb. When the dinner arrived which looked lovely (2 beef and 2 duck) and the chips, there was another sarcy comment about here are your chips, without vinegar! Anyway, my beef was pure gristle although very nicely presented in its own pot of gravy and my husband's duck although huge had little taste. There was only a 5 inch skewer or vegetables comprising one piece of carrot, one mushroom slice, one piece of black pudding and a bunch of green beans 2 inches long wrapped in bacon. Hardly enough to accommpany a pot of beef stew. However the chips (french pomme frites) were lovely. This was about the only nice thing about the meal. Then the bill came - my god. They had put their prices up since our hosts last visited earlier this year and they were surprised at the cost. A complete rip off. Very over priced and disappointing. Lovely ambience and great chips but not much else to support its reputation. Won't be going again.

We visited here for the second time taking two friends with us who were visiting us in Axat. The owner made us most welcome, and even though it was a busy Friday night and we hadn't booked still found us a table. He was very polite and enquired if we needed help with the menu. We all choose from the set menu, but it was excellent, and the service was great as well. Our friends even commented that the chocolate mouse for dessert was the best. If you want to go I would suggest booking
