We have recently moved to Axat, and during my research, had noticed the reviews for the place. Also talking to other residents in the village they had taken visitors there the night before for a meal. Driving up it looks rather unassuming, but as soon as you walk in the owner makes you feel very welcome, quickly realising we were English. They have a large selection of Belgium beers, and as for the food, it was fantastic. Try the trout caught an hour before perfectly cooked served with lots of fresh veg and a huge bowlful of lovely crisp chips. Had nice touches like the Amuse Bouche, and the owner made you feel relaxed and welcome enough to ask about anything on the menu, which has cleared up some questions for me. The desserts are all homemade and although feeling very full still managed one. We chose from a set price menu for 29 euros, but loads of choice. Just can't wait to go again. If you haven't booked get there early.
