My wife and I stayed at this Intercontiinental rather than the Sydney CBD. It is a wonderful part of Sydney. There are pleasant walks, great shopping and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The Indonesian lady in the club was a stand out. Thank you.

This is the saddest review I’m writing for the IHG hotel group because we have been regulars at this hotel since it opened, having stayed here nearly 40 times!!
It has gone from an elegant and immaculately run establishment to a filthy, depressing, pretentious excuse for a hotel - and way overpriced.
I believe this hotel is under new management and they are clearly not interested in any kind of maintenance or customer service. All of our favourite staff members have left and, apart from a select few, they seem completely disinterested and unprofessional.
The concierge staff are never there any more when you pull up, there is always a long wait at reception and the entrance is dirty and dingy. This goes for the rooms too - there is a ring of dust around the whole room and bird poo on the balcony - lots of bird poo. The furniture looks like it belongs in Vinnies!
There is just no feeling of specialness any more. There are so many things that have gone downhill here - this hotel is dying!!
Don’t waste your money at this dump. There are so many better options in Sydney.

We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality of service and what you described isn't the brand standards that we live up to. Ensuring your comfort at all times is our topmost priority and I'm sorry to learn your discomfort due to the unsatisfactory condition of the room and furniture. It's disheartening to know that the management oversees the hotel's maintenance and upkeep. It's also concerning to hear that the level of service have gone downhill. This isn't the experience we want you to remember us.

We came here to overcome jetlag in peace and quiet. The hotel is excellent in a nice, leafy and very quiet area of Sydney. Perhaps too quiet as shops and cafes in the area closed very early. 10 minute(-ish) walk to the nearest train station, 5 minutes to the harbor with regular (if not frequent) boat service to Sydney harbor. The hotel staff were all very friendly. All rooms have small balconies which were a lovely extra few square meters to relax in and made all the difference. The roof pool area was really nice although the pool is quite small, but enough for a refreshing dip. Nice view of the area and double bay. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and service impeccable. Very happy to recommend this hotel.

Stay here regularly and always have the best experience. The staff are all amazing especially in the club lounge, they are always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spectacular as is the view in the bay rooms too. Pool is great although can become crowded with non staying guests In summer which should be co trolled with card access on pool area gates.

There was nobody at the entrance when we arrived to either park the car or tell us where we could park it. Took about 5 minutes for two people to arrive but they were very helpful when they did. Check in was smooth.

The food was truly excellent quality and the staff were friendly. Be aware that children are allowed in the club lounge which means the otherwise peaceful atmosphere will disappear quickly. The courtyard outside was a nice alternative until someone threw ice (from their drinks?) from the rooftop pool. A visit to the pool showed more drinkers than swimmers.

Perhaps they were the same people walking drunkenly from floor to floor through the hallways at about 1am, shrieking at the top of their voices and banging on doors (and possibly filming the people who came out of their rooms to complain). Surprisingly, reception did not seem very concerned and said that they had already been reported. When asked to send security, they were quite dismissive until asked if the guests should call the police themselves. Then, apparently, a manager was already on the way.

This morning, a staff member told us that there was also a fight going on at around the same time that included furniture being thrown around the room!

Not exactly a restful night’s sleep in a luxury hotel. The guests seemed younger, drunker and louder than the usual demographic of an Intercontinental Hotel, perhaps it is the location or perhaps because it is a weekend. I hope this weekend (especially the night Receptionist’s attitude) was just a blip because I usually love staying at hotels in this brand.
