“Remodeled Rooms are Great”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2011

I have been staying here off and on for three weeks on business. I have asked for a remodeled room each time. They are very nice and a great home away from home.

“Good food but poor service!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2010

After arriving in South Lake Tahoe last week, we walked out of our hotel in search of some good food to eat. We came across the restaurant at the Embassy Suites. What attracted our attention was the outdoor seating area which was quite inviting.

As we walked up to the outside eating area we had no idea where we were at, no menu posted and no main entrance. We were not the only couple scratching their heads. Two other couples walked up shortly after us and none of us knew what to do. There was nobody to welcome you or answer any questions. The 2 waiters we saw all evening seemed too busy to really care if you were a first time visitor to their restaurant or not.

After finally getting a menu to look at and deciding to eat there, someone behind the bar we could just sit where we wanted. The atmosphere itself was good, and the food was good but the customer service left a lot to be desired. While we realized this was a restaurant that catered to the guests of the hotel, it seemed as if there was little if no interest to those walking in from the street. There are plenty of other choices in town. We would not go back there again. An additional negative is that there were no restaurant bathrooms. You had to walk way back to the lobby of the hotel.

“Great Place, Great Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2010

Wonderful location with outdoor seating next to the casinos. Lot's of live entertainment. Food is good, great value. Such a nice surprise. I usually dont like hotel restaurants, but this is the best one I've ever been at.

“Really trying to be good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2010

Tried here because we did not want the option at Marriott Timber Lodge.
Chef came to tell us about how he tries to use local suppliers.
Good menu with oysters and scallops.
Excellent Iranian waiter . for some reason all the staff have their home country on their name badge.
Only proper restaurant with table cloths and silver service that we found in South Lake Tahoe and they do it very well.
Drinks and tip doubled the bill as wine is very expensive in California
As there is no real view they have a huge plasma TV showing scenes from around the lake which was a nice touch

“Two restaurants in one and much better than expected”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2010

There are two sides to this restaurant. The noisy hard tabletop side and the fine dining white tablecloth side. I guess they have the same menu but the experience is probably different. Anyway, my husband and I sat in the fine dining side and each had one of their specials which were both very good. Service was very good as well. I would recommend the fine dining side of this restaurant for grownups who want a bit more serenity.
