“They tried hard but got it wrong.”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

It took 1.15hrs to get served which is the 2nd time this has happened in last 2 months, same excuse both times. However when it did arrive the food was nicely prepared, came with apologies and two free coffee vouchers. As they say its the putting right that counts and on this point Tuki Kitchens went out of their way to appease their unhappy customers. Given the friendly and apologetic staff yes we will go back and try it again, hopefully 3rd time lucky!! Nice atmosphere on a sunny day under the trees.

Great end to a morning's cycling: Friendly service, and excellent menu. Laid back atmosphere suited just fine. Would recommend!

“Great spot for lunch on a family cycling trip”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

We stopped at Tuki Kitchen about 2:15pm for a late lunch after a big cycle ride. The staff were busy, and obviously had been a lot busier earlier on, as some dishes had run out. Once we were served we were very well looked after, and we enjoyed the pleasant outdoor dining area while we waited. The food was delicious and wholesome, and it was great to see both the children devouring their meals with gusto! The coffee was great, and there was a good selection of wines and beers. The grounds include some playground equipment, and plenty of grass for kids to run around on, within site of the outdoor tables. There is plenty of room inside, with a nice ambience.

“Great service”
Reviewed March 25, 2013 via mobile

We sat outside and as the weather closed in the waitress kept coming and checking if we wanted to move inside, which we were grateful for once the weather packed in just as our food arrived. Great play area for our little one.
3 of us had fish which we all really enjoyed, one had the bruschetta which was quite hard and therefore hard to eat. Coffee was good.
We all enjoyed our experience and that was largely due to our fantastic waitress. We'll be back.

“Nice fish - rest was OK”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

We were pleased to find out about the Tuki Kitchen as we had noticed that the food at the Mission estate has gone downhill and we were wondering where the chef had disappeared to....now we know.
We booked in for dinner and the place was pretty empty. It was a bit too cold to sit outside. The inside of the restaurant is a bit boring and functional. Despite being the only people there, there were delays in having our food served. We ordered the breads first. It was embarrassing - more or less warm cheese on toast. Great slabs of horrid half stale semi toasted bread. We wondered about leaving there and then. The main courses (there were only a few options) were much better. My companion said that the fish was the nicest he has had in many months. My meal was OK. Nothing to get excited about. Made the mistake of choosing the Maltesers cheese cake for dessert - basically it tasted boring and then had awful fizzy lollies with it. Do not try this! We were also annoyed that we werent allowed to take our half drunk bottle of rose home with us. This was just downright officious. We were the only people there for goodness sake.
So - I would probably go back because my companion really liked the fish and I would be prepared to give them another try. They would have to get better (I am hoping so)
