Description: Open for lunches 7 days and dinner Wednesday to Saturday, Black Barn Bistro is the perfect place to spend an hour or two absorbing the atmosphere of Wine Country. It is in the heart of the vineyard surrounded by vines and a table on the large generous veranda lets you look right out across the region. In warmer weather a courtyard covered by a canopy of grapes is also a perfect place to enjoy lunch and a glass of wine. The restaurant menu is light, fresh and delicious. There is an emphasis on freshly grown Hawkes Bay produce, the selection changes with the seasons. The bistro is available for private functions, evening and during the day, it is also the perfect venue for a very limited number of weddings, for bookings or enquiries please give us a call.

Went to Black Barn for a lunchtime drink and dessert. What a beautiful setting, sitting under a pergola of grapevines. The service was wonderful and the dessert tasty. Would love to go back for an evening meal next time I'm down that way.

Black Barn is an amazing dining experience from start to finish. The setting is spectacular with grapevines growing above you (just reach up and try some - I don't think they mind:) and they are delicious!) and the food matches the amazing setting. I had an incredible tartlet with goat cheese and delicious zuchinni bake with incredible olive tapanade. To top it all off the wine is amazing. I even brought a bottle of hot sauce and wine home with me! An absolute must for any visitor to the Hawkes Bay area.

We arrived without a reservation for a late lunch and were able to get a window seating. The view was beautiful even though there was a light mist falling. We enjoyed a long, relaxing lunch with a glass of their wine. Food was great and lived up to expectations of other reviews, a little pricey however. After lunch, we tried a few of their wines at their tasting area and bought a couple bottles to bring home. From there we traveled to the top of Te Mata Peak for an excellent view of Hawks Bay region. Great way to spend the afternoon.

Girls weekend away in Napier. Had a wonderful lunch at the bistro. All staff were very friendly. Highly recommend the pork belly and strawberry carpaccio dessert. Certainly recommend you eat there.

Black Barn Restaurant......wow!! It is no wonder that they are recipients of the prestigious NZ Cuisine Award for Best Winery Restaurant! What a fantastic experience of culinary delight unsurpassed any where in a NZ vineyard! But the most amazing aspect of it all was that they catered to over 60 people to end our business conference in Napier. The co-ordination and the focused delivery of the 3 course meal was like watching 'poetry in motion'! Staff service complimented the gastronomical menu as well as the Black Barn wines that were presented to us and I couldn't resist the temptation to complimenting the chefs for their work of art and skill! So ..whoever was responsible for the whole operation ...please take a bow and pat your selves on the back... If this is the standard of excellence toward customer service and devine food quality of the restaurant I look forward to experiencing the smaller operation of the Black Barn Bistro with much anticipation. As you're wines and hospitality are part of our NZ tourist industry I,m so proud to be KIWI.
