“A well laid out centre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

My kids and I loved visiting Arataki. The kids loved being able to dress up in bee keeper and bee costumes and do some activities. The learned about bees (despite living really close to a similar facility, they got far more out of their visit to Arataki). We checked out the different varieties of honey and bought a few favourites. There's no pressure to buy but you end up buying as it's so nice to take something special home.

A fascinating look into how honey is made and the life of the honey bee. Great for kids and adults alike. A range of honeys are also available for tasting and purchase.

“Sweet As !!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Excellent parking outside. Wonderful displays for children, bees working and a small film that they can watch. Honey samples of different varieties. Lovely gifts especially for overseas visitors and handy smaller sizes to post as gifts. Interesting and informative exhibitions.
I never go without my grandson so he can watch or even help fill my container with the honey of my choice. Reasonably priced !
I never go without buying a bottle of lemon, honey ginger to ward off winter colds and coughs !
Pleasant staff. An excellent attraction.

“An informative and worthwhile visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Arataki Honey offers three main reasons for visiting:

1. Very informative information on bees and how they make honey nectar
2. A wide range of samples for tasting and then...
3. Product for sale

It is informative, well presented and not a tourist trap for prices.
Children are well considered there as well.
