“Sweet As !!”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Excellent parking outside. Wonderful displays for children, bees working and a small film that they can watch. Honey samples of different varieties. Lovely gifts especially for overseas visitors and handy smaller sizes to post as gifts. Interesting and informative exhibitions.
I never go without my grandson so he can watch or even help fill my container with the honey of my choice. Reasonably priced !
I never go without buying a bottle of lemon, honey ginger to ward off winter colds and coughs !
Pleasant staff. An excellent attraction.

“An informative and worthwhile visit”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Arataki Honey offers three main reasons for visiting:

1. Very informative information on bees and how they make honey nectar
2. A wide range of samples for tasting and then...
3. Product for sale

It is informative, well presented and not a tourist trap for prices.
Children are well considered there as well.

“Arataki honey visit”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Great place to visit. Educational and informative plus a lovely selection of gifts. Enjoyed the video which was very interesting. There is a wide variety of displays which explain the honey making process as well as showing the many products which have honey as part of their ingredients. The tasting station is always popular. Have visited here many times and is a definite stop for tourists.

“Worth a visit, even if only to sample the wide range of honey :P”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

We chanced upon this attraction while on a campervan drive trip through New Zealand. Spent about 1 hr in this place. Was fun to see the bees at work in their hives at the exhibition area. Highlighta include spotting the queen bee amidst the drones and workers... and of course, the free tasting of a wide range of different types of honey (e.g. clover, rewa rewa, manuka, thyme etc). Also plenty of cute little souvenirs to pick up if that is what you are looking for. I particularly liked the small 25g samples of honey on sale, which were perfect gifts for friends :)
