Everything you ever wanted to know about bees and honey, includes a short movie, inactive displays and microscopes to minutely study all things bee related, games and toys for the little ones and a honey-tasting station so you can select your favourite flavour from their well-appointed shop.

Visited this place on a stay in Hastings with family. They were going there to top up their home supplies, which they do by taking a few empty glass jars along for the trip.
I honestly didn't know so many varieties of honey existed.
Impressive line up of honeys to taste.
There was an astounding variety of skin care items and honey or bee themed goodies (the beehive honey jars were cute and the Manuka lip balm is now a firm favourite).
Travelling from Australia we were told we could take 1 kilogram of honey per person back into the country as long as we weren't returning it to Tasmania or Western Australia (they have state laws prohibiting the import of honey).
Lucky for us, we're in Queensland - so two very nice varieties came home with us (creamed Clove and Tawari).
The wall of live bees working away was incredible.
Worth a visit for sure.

I call in every month or so to stock up on honey - it's all very well priced and you can try most varieties before you buy (Arataki's Thyme honey is my favourite). Our 4 year old always tags along, he loves watching the working beehives on display inside, and trying to spot the queen bee. There's a very informative video to watch as well, and you'll learn a great deal about how honey is produced. Fascinating stuff!
