Very disappointing attitude from female host at this nicely decorated motel. Such a shame! We loved our rooms and the location of the motel. But, unfortunately could never recommend it based on our interactions with the female host. Our simplest requests made us feel as though " we were really putting her out". Overall a very disappointing experience.

Hotel is in a great location, easy walking to the village. The rooms are very well appointed, furnished, comfortable & spotlessly clean.
We booked almost a year in advance for a family wedding that coincided with Art Deco w/e and requested a quiet room, which unfortunately had been overlooked [new ownership] and we were accommodated in room that is 1 adjacent to the main road and is very noisy, particularly for someone used to quiet rural living...
Margaret who was on duty was extremely apologetic and empathetic, although she could not move us on our first night, she did the next day and we were upgraded to a 2 bed suite [room 7] for no extra charge and that is EXCELLENT service to what could have turned out quite differently. Needless to say we were very happy people indeed and slept very well on our second night

Room Tip: Avoid room one if you want quiet,,,it really needs to be double glazed. Consider room 7, a 2 bed su...

Our three night stay at Harvest Lodge was outstanding. The location is great, a very short walk to the village, and also easy access to main roads by car. The unit was a studio on the ground floor, and felt spacious and airy. It was super clean, and serviced daily to a high standard. There is good parking, and the bathroom was really large.
The kitchenette is well equipped, always great to have a plunger and ground coffee provided. The only suggestion I would make is that it would be good to have bigger coffee mugs (a tiny quibble and probably a personal prejudice).

We stayed here for 3 days in December 2012 with 2 different type of rooms (7 of us in total, including teenagers and youngsters). We used this as a base for our marriage which took place in Napier. Rooms were high quality, spacious and had all that was needed - spa bath was also very lovely. Rooms were cleaned daily and staff very friendly and helpful. In the immediate area there are plenty of places to choose from to eat and shops and lido nearby. My (now) husband even managed to get his suit altered at a place across the road on the morning of the wedding (!). Napier was less than half an hour's drive away. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: We had a 2 bedroom which had a great lounge area too, as well as a one bedroom.

The Harvest Lodge is a great motel. It's well located within the village and the rooms are modern, clean and well maintained. We stayed in a one bedroom unit which had plenty of space for 3 or 4 people. The motel managers are excellent. I'd like to thank them especially for their thoughtfulness in providing a small ramp to enable our visitor who was in a wheelchair to get into our unit more easily.

Location to Havelock North shops & restaurants/cafes was excellent. Ideal location for ourselves too as we attended a wedding in Hastings and had family to visit in Napier, so in between both. Close to good wineries too. The first night we were woken by noisy people out on the street or behind the motel but otherwise no issues. The rooms were modern and of a good size. The bathroom was nicely decorated and huge for a motel and the deep spa bath was worth the extra $$. Would definitely stay again.
