Harvest Lodge
Reviewed February 5, 2012

I booked the Harvest Lodge Motel accommodation as a surprise weekend get away for my partner to Hawkes Bay. We were pleasantly greeted by the owner upon arrival and personally taken to our room. I had chosen an Executive Spa Studio and was delighted with our room for several reasons; this has to be the most cleanest room we have ever stayed in! Not a spec of dust to be seen and if there was a reflective surface it glistened. The sheets were clean and crisp, the towels were soft, the cutlery and glasses were pristine like new and the spa bath and shower were immaculate. Nice selection of tv channels with clear sound and image, well put together Motel and local amenities guide and to finish, it was perfectly situated for both of our travel needs whilst in the bay, walking distance to all the shops and dining in Havelock North and only 10-15 minutes drive to places of interest such as Te Mata Peak, The Farmers Market and Blackbarn Vineyard. It must be said, this was a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Harvest Lodge Motel that we would highly recommend and definitely revisit.

Room Tip: If you like a good long soak in the bath, then definitely choose a room with a Spa Bath, its well wo...

On first inspection this place looks great and is in a good location.

Our room was on the second storey (no. 19). The room was tidy, well-appointed (although the kettle was corroding), and had a good bathroom with a very nice double spa bath (one of the best we have tried!).

But... the noise was a let-down. If people just chat outside on their balconies the sound travels straight through the room door like they are made of paper. I guess they doors are just a bit light-weight and have no sound proofing seals. It was such a let-down as we were woken up through the night.

The bed looked good but had roll together. A decent bed upgrade is required.

I really wanted to give this place a higher rating but these two things just prevented me from doing so.

Thanks.

We recently stayed at the Harvest Lodge and it was a good experience. Our rooms (No. 7) was spacious, clean and quiet. The motel is located within an easy 2 minute walk to central Havelock North. We were there as part of a wedding party and as a result we had extra rubbish in our room, included large boxes and coverings which the flowers and dresses had arrived in - these were all taken care of without any fuss by the cleaners.
During our stay our airconditioner broke down. Although this was inconvenient we noted the management had serveral tradespeople working on the problem and they sent us a complimentary bottle of win and box of cherries in acknowledgement of the problem - excellent service response. We would stay again and recommend this motel.

Room Tip: No. 7 on the ground floor, has a private little courtyard garden at the back.

I stayed here with my husband and 8 month old son for 2 nights. The suite had a lounge area, kitchen area (with cupboards, hob, fridge and microwave), bedroom, bathroom and outdoor patio. It was clean and well kept. It was less than 5 minutes walk from the centre. We ran up to the base of Mt Tera one morning with the buggy - very impressive indeed.

All our family and friends stayed at the Harvest Lodge for our son's wedding. Most of us stayed several days. The rooms were perfect, clean well appointed, serviced very well. Karen and her team could not be more helpful right down to arranging for my wife's glasses to be picked up from the motel and taken to the wedding venue after she had forgotten them. We would definitely stay here anytime we were in the Bay.

This place is relatively simple, but clean and modern. The decor is up to date. There is a nice little kitchenette in the room with everything you need in it, spacious bathroom with oversized tub and separate shower, a wardrobe to hang you clothes, and all the amenities you would expect. There's a small table with 2 chairs outside each room to enjoy a glass of wine or coffee outside. Karen (I think is her name) at the front desk is very friendly and accommodating.

We were here just to visit wineries in the Hawke's Bay region. It's a great location, easy drive to Napier, Hastings, and all the wineries.
