. . . from the view from the Sea Urchin room to breakfast (which included fishcakes made from the family's special recipe) to the wide variety of items available in the gift store to the amazing hospitality shown by Holly, a one-of-a-kind, all-round fabulous experience. I highly recommend it.

“Great food and enthusiastic host”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2011

Lovely small cafe with seating inside and out (don't sit outside in the sun as it gets very hot, unless you want to cook).
Tasty home made food with a good choice of wraps and salads. We ate lobster wrap with spinach, apple, pecan & date salad plus avocado pesto panini with spinach, cucumber, pepper and carrot followed by blueberry cheesecake and ginger bread with lemon syrup. All freshly made and tasty. Our host was welcoming but laid back and happy for you to sit, eat, drink or just sit and read the papers and books provided. Music was from the sixties so great too.

“Wonderful Bread & fresh ingredients”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2011

They are only open until 4 PM so plan your visit! The sandwiches are wonderful, and you can even order them to go for a picnic lunch! The bread is the best I have ever tasted. Its light with a touch of sweetness and has multiple grains in it, I just cant describe it.

There are some tables inside, a few on the front and back porch and also a picnic table under the trees which is where we ate with our dogs. I was going to take it out to the table but they served us outside! I had the lobster melt which was incredible. And my husband had the ruben. It was so good the next day we stopped and ordered a picnic lunch to go. and get the cinnamon rolls! Home made fresh daily.

“Not to be missed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2011

After a week in the Halifax/Dartmouth area we were sightseeing along the Eastern shore on our last day when we serendipitously stumbled across this hidden gem. The Tourist Trap is a small and very charming combination of east coast warmth and exquisite cuisine. The food here was by far the best we had all week in Nova Scotia and the staff were professional yet definitely Nova Scotia friendly. Our server Susan who is also the baker was wonderful and warm and provided us with terrific service and good conversation. The meals were incredible with the pan seared haddock the best I've ever tasted. Also, not to be missed is the Spinach, Apple and Pecan salad. Holly, the owner and chef came out to greet us and check on our meal. Try and save room for the homemade deserts as well but if you don't they'll box them up for you to take on the way. This was definitely a five-star experience at very reasonable prices.
