This is a very nice villa to have a tour and get a feeling on how the people used to live in the villa in the past. Really nice thing to do.

THe Villa Barbaro is a must see for anyone with an interest in arcitectural history. It is still lived in by the family but several rooms are open and filled with remarkable murals and paintings. The views are splendid.

stunning house, with some amazing rooms. unfortunately some rooms were restricted. Had lunch in the cafe, simple salads and panini. Good value for money but service was slow as they were very busy from feeding a coach party

This Palladian villa has a design that is at is core similar to his other Veneto villas (central building, farm buildings, etc.) but the surface decoration is beyond the classical style he commondly used. The exterior stucco is yellow and the side buildings have pediments that are greatly curved; this is not a square building. The interior has lovely Veronese frescoes, including the family overlooking a balcony rail to the visitors below and figures moving through doorways that aren't there. Sitting on a hill, this villa commands a fine view of the valley and Tempietto, also by Palladio, below. A world heritage site. Check out http://www.cisapalladio.org/veneto/scheda.php?sezione=4&architettura=7&lingua=e Easy to visit this and Villa Emo on the same trip.
