“Where children can enjoy simple pleasures in the fresh air”

We used to bring our children here years ago, now its our grandchildren.
For small children there is a pleasant riverside walk where they can throw sticks in the river and watch them float downstream, or mess around with simple fishing nets. For older children and walkers there are a range of way-marked paths that take you through the woods and countryside of the Darenth Valley.
The cafe and gift shop is ideal for the location and provides what's needed without over commercialising the site. I did enjoy looking at the work of local artists on display at the visitor centre but that is no longer open.
Remember to bring £1.50 in change for the car park, a reasonable contribution toward the upkeep of this valuable resource.
Just as well the M25 didn't go through the Darenth Valley, what a shame that would of been.

We go to Lullingstone frequently for walking and afterwards lunch in the cafe. Lots of seating, inside and outside The staff generally prepare fresh food in the kitchens daily, we always see them peeling potatoes and carrots and so on, and it is generally very tasty. The Christmas lunches are always fully booked, and the meal is made from scratch by the staff, who do work hard.
The walks are mostly marked, you can easily walk to Eynsford one way and Shoreham the other, and there are some superb views, combined with access to the river which children enjoy when the weather is warm enough. A lovely day out.

Attended Lullingstone Country Park over the Easter holidays. The views over the countryside was great but I found the visitors centre, café and toilets disappointing. The toilets was very smelly and looked like it had not been cleaned for a few days. The café was average with a pricey menu and presentation was not great. I have had better food from high street cafés. The staff I also found was not so welcoming either and seem a bit fed up. It’s a shame as it has great potential. We attended on Good Friday so please note the castle is closed on that day. Overall, I feel the views made up for the centre but I think Shorne park offers more with a lovely café, clean facilities and also friendly staff.

What a lovely park: big enough for a really good walk, a river to play in, open countryside with rolling views, woodland to build dens, zip wire, obstacle climbing course, carved wooden animals to climb on and a cafe at the car park with plentiful outside seating. Easy to while away 2- 3 hours. Children of all ages will enjoy.
