The inn was spacious and immaculate, the breakfast was delicious and the hosts were friendly and accommodating. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. What more can be said...it was a perfect place to stay!

This is an incredibly quaint and beautifual Inn tucked away on the outskirsts of Gambo and within footsteps from the ocean. But what makes this a Gold Star B&B are its' proprietors Peggy & Boom! They are without question two of the most special people that you will ever meet. From the moment we arrived they exuded the warmest welcome.

My husband and I were travelling with my parents and they had been very excited to learn that Peggy and Boom had very kindly offered to take us down to the waterfront to get lobsters for dinner. Boom and his family have a lot of roots in the Gambo area and he took us down to purchase some lobsters from his friend Bruce. Bruce was incredibly friendly and he gave us a great appreciation for life on the salt. Boom then showed us how to cook the lobster and eat it in true Newfoundland style and Peggy made my husband (who is not a lobster fan) the most amazing chicken breast. They didn't miss a detail with lobster bibs and the most delicious salad. After this amazing dinner we made our way back to our rooms for the most peaceful sleep.

The next morning we were treated to an incredibly delicious 3 course breakfast - fresh fruit and yogurt, granola and then blueberry stuffed french toast. Over breakfast Boom shared several travel tips with us about places to see on our upcoming roadtrip.

We have shared with family and friends the very special time that we were so incredibly fortunate to share with Peggy and Boom which has inspired them to instantly consider booking a holiday in Newfoundland. As in all things with life - time is short - Peggy and Boom are considering selling their B&B - so don't miss out book a holiday at their Inn before you miss this one in a lifetime experience!!

Thank you so very much Peggy and Boom for our amazing getaway to the Freshwater Inn - we will never forget it!!

We booked this place after reading all the great reviews on Trip Advisor and even the fabulous comments don’t do it justice, you truly need to experience this place to know what everyone is talking about. We booked this place as a central location to do a day trip to Twillingate but what we soon discovered was that Freshwater Inn isn’t just a stop along the way it truly is the destination. Peggy and Boom were absolutely amazing and after we left Freshwater we spent the rest of our vacation talking about our experience there. My parents mentioned on arrival that they had experienced everything in Newfoundland except they hadn’t been screeched in and they hadn’t heard any traditional live music. After our day trip to Twillingate, which they helped us plan, we arrived back at Freshwater only to discover that Peggy and Boom had made all the arrangements to screech us in. They even invited a friend over to play tradition music for us, what a blast. Whether you are looking for a quiet retreat or a place to be entertained Freshwater has it all and Peggy and Boom truly know how to cater to each guest experience. The accommodations are beautiful, the food is amazing and Peggy and Boom are the ultimate hosts. I can’t say enough great things about this place, if you don’t book here while in Newfoundland you have really missed out. Thanks for a truly memorable vacation!

We were embarrassed to arrive at 10 p.m. after a long day on the road, but our hosts Peggy and Boom were reassuring and more than happy to wait up for us. They welcomed us with open arms and even walked us to our room to make sure we knew where everything was. The room was well appointed with all the trimmings that ensure a comfortable stay. The furniture was gorgeous and the room spotlessly clean, all with a beautiful view of the bay. During our delicious breakfast the next morning, we chatted with Peggy, who is absolutely delightful to talk to, not to mention a wealth of information about Newfoundland. We wholeheartedly recommend the Freshwater Inn!

I travel around the Province for work and choose B&Bs and inns ( I like to support the home team). This place exceeded my expectations! The owners are friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and the bed was so comfortable. Top notch, first rate and well beyond the 4 star rating. As a matter of fact, I booked for next week too. Highly recommend this place to travelers.

Room Tip: Bring your fishing rod.

The rooms are 5 star accommodations- clean, new and very comfortable. The owners are great people and cook a mean breakfast! You can enjoy a campfire while overlooking one of the most beautiful and zen places in Newfoundland. We wish could have stayed more than one night. Hands down the best B&B I have ever stayed in...

I greatly enjoyed my stay at The Fresh Water Inn. The small complex of the three rooms was very lovely with excelent decoration and very cozy. Peggy and Boom were excelent hosts treating us as if we were family. Peggy was an excelent cook and provided us with many memorable meals. Although their isn't much to do in Gambo the location is superb for a stay if you are traversing the island. I would have no hesitation staying at The Fresh Water Inn if I were in the area again.
