We often come here as a family, as we live close by, and as soon as we enter the log cabin we feel far away from it all! Luxurious, comfortable, plenty for the kids to do and lovely hosts! A firm favourite and highly recommended!

I booked the large Cottage for 5 adults plus 3 year old for 3 nights of the December long weekend (my family from UK plus hubs, myself & very energetic boy). It could not have been more perfect for our needs - built-in braai, large deck, plunge pool/jaccuzi with ingenious heating device, air-con and heating inside fully equipped kitchen, DVD player WITH DVD's to suit boy and girl. WOW - my child had such a great time in the perfect size pool, and we enjoyed it in the day when hot & the evening once heated.
Swingball and DVD's helped keep my son busy & we were happy and relaxed as a result.
Close enough to the good wine farms and activities (we booked to enjoy a moonlight ride at Horseabout, so it was well located for this).
I forgot to bring a camping bed for my son & Mandy quickly found extra mattress & bedding for him - so grateful.
A really great experience, with super hosts and lots of unexpected extras.

I just can't wait to return to stay in one of the log cabins with hubs.
Book it - you won't be sorry :)

Room Tip: Large cottage has 1 double with fan, 1 double with fan & aircon plus ensuite bathroom (shower, loo & sink), 1 twin room - no fan or aircon. 2nd bathroom has freestanding roll-top bath - no shower.

We had a lovely family weekend getaway at Arum Lily Cottages last weekend. The log cabins are really well and thoughtfully equipped and set on a lovely peaceful dam on a fruit farm. There is a water trough that runs past the cottages which we swam in and the cottages are on the edge of the dam so this would make for a stressful venue with toddlers but if your children are slightly older and can swim you will have a whale of a time. We were welcomed with a home-cooked meal which Mandy Moller organised. She and her husband Koos own the farm. The dam is well stocked for some catch and release fishing and my son and husband and son (5) caught a sizeable bass and catfish each. It was my son's first fish so a very memorable moment. Everything is sparkling clean and the little extras (aircon, electric blankets, a jar of homemade rusks) meant that this is a wonderful weekend getaway. Also lovely for romance!

Room Tip: We stayed in Aaronskelk which is the bigger 4 sleeper but our friends stayed in the other one which was just as lovely.

We were really impressed by this venue. Arum lily at present comprises 3 Canadian style log cabins which have been constructed to a high standard - the cabins are approximately 20 to 30 meters apart and face a duck, coot and fish filled dam. Each cabin comes with it's own canoe and you are free to paddle the small lake and of course fish (all fishing is catch and release). Some lovely large bass fell victim to my 6 weight Orvis fly rod !! The cabins have all the goodies needed to create your home away from home! Kitchen utensils, bathroom soaps etc are all supplied including rusks and fresh milk ! Chris is the gent that will welcome you and tend to your needs plus clean and repack fire places and BBQ areas with wood etc for the next night, you have to try the outdoor fire stoked hot tubs ... Really a great experience to relax outside as the sun sets with a good wine and relax in the jacuzzi style hot tub ! The owners Koos and Mandy are very friendly and make you feel very welcome ... So kudos to you guys for creating a gem and keeping it that way !! We loved our 4 day stay there and found it to be a good value for money, quality getaway destination with a very nice setting (overlooks the Waaihoek and Du Toits Kloof mountains. It's a short drive to Ceres where we all did the Zip Line tour. So all in all a lovely destination however do just remember that it is a working fruit export farm and there is some noise and activity at times from the farming operation but they didn't dent our enjoyment at all !!

Awesome location, great deco, long walks, lazy braais, good wine farms, zip line in Ceres - heaven on earth. We have stayed here three times already and highly recommend it - you will not be disappointed.
