We stayed here for two nights in August. This is a great quiet place with beautiful cabins to stay when you want to get away from noise and bustle. Very quiet, not the best for active kids who need amusements, but perfect for thNJose who want what it offers.

We spent 3 nights at Sundog Retreat mid August plus one night on our way back end of August and this location was very pleasant on each stay. They are a few cabins with well enough separated from each other and surrounded by trees. Here, your can "hear" the silence. What a nice place. We only experienced one cabin called fuzzy crocus but assume that the others give the same pleasure. It was nice and large enough for two persons. The kitchen is well supplied. All the cabin from the kitchen to the bathroom, bedroom, living room was very clean. It was really a very enjoyable stay and if we have the chance to travel again to Whitehorse, this is the place we will select. The only improvement that we can suggest would be to have access to internet directly from the cabin. Right now, we have to go near the office which is better than nothing but not always convenient.

Room Tip: For two persons or two persons, the Fuzzy Crocus cabin is well adapted

We visited Whitehorse for the first time at the end of August and spent 3 nights at Sundog. We wanted a true family retreat and we weren't disappointed! Sundog Retreat provided a comfortable, quiet and relaxing atmosphere for our entire family. It is just 25 minutes from the city and it's really easy to get around to all the sites from there. We stayed at the Panorama cottage which was quite spacious for our family of 5 with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, dining area and a washroom. The night before we left, we had a panoramic view of the northern lights. What a tremendous experience! Sundog Retreat is a true golden nugget in the rough! Thanks to the owners Andrew and Heather for creating such a great space! We highly recommend this cozy place!

In researching places to stay, I had read the great reviews of Sundog Retreat but could not find any pictures or reviews of their Wolf's Den Cabin.......so hopefully this review of our recent stay there will help future travelers.....
Most of the cabins are positioned in such a way that each is in a semi private location, but the Wolf's Den cabin is located in a more secluded location and gives you the feeling of being out in the woods on your own.....exactly what we were looking for !....
The cabin itself was immaculate.....one bedroom downstairs and another in the loft, wood stove, full bath and full kitchen.....wonderful wrap around deck on three sides of the cabin adds lots of outdoor living space........
The cabin was perfect for us as a couple and would work well for a family with young children as well, but two couples would probably not have enough privacy, as there is no door on the downstairs bedroom and the loft bedroom is also open, overlooking the living area.......
Andrew welcomed us when we arrived and offered us fresh potatoes from his garden, but then this excellent host graciously left us to our privacy......the grounds are well kept and natural, the hot tub is huge, with the sauna and showers right there, easy walking distance from the cabin......
Lovely quiet location.......This is not a typical one-night stay type of place.....Do plan on at least 2 or 3 nights here, bring all the groceries you will need with you and spend some time exploring and enjoying the area, to really appreciate it !!,,,,,,,,,Already looking forward to another visit.....thank you so much, Andrew and Heather

We are a family of 5 who stayed in "panorama" for 1 week in July. We enjoyed our family time very much in this close-to-nature and quiet place. The cabin is spotless clean, spacious, cozy and well equipped. (the beds are little too soft though) Heather and Andrew are extremely helpful and resourceful, We are perfectly content to stay in the cabin, with board games, a well equipped kitchen and even a barbeque pit outside... I saw 2 deers jumping through the forest, not to mention many squirrels and woodpeckers. There isn't WIFI in our cabin, but the Sunroom has it, along with hot tubs and sauna! Definitely hope to come back one day in the winter!

Two young families, grandparents and two aunties traveled to Whitehorse from SE Alaska for a getaway to the sunshine. We were thrilled with our experience at Sundog Retreat. The Panorama cabin met our needs with two comfortable bedrooms (each room accommodated 3 people), a large living room, dining area and well-equipped kitchen (which we fully utilized!). Although there are several other cabins, we had just one close by. We topped each evening off with a campfire and some of us took advantage of the outdoor hottub. Our helpful host, Andrew, arranged horseback riding and gave us Yukon Gold potatoes harvested from the 160 property that is Sundog Retreat. Yum! We didn't use the TV.

Part of our family overnighted in a tent close to the cabin.

Although our stay was brief, we made the most of our time at Sundog and thought this was an ideal, quiet, family-friendly spot for our group.

Sundog was easy to find and is about 20 minutes from downtown Whitehorse. We hope to stay here again.

The cabins were a delight, roomy, clean and quiet surroundings. The only complaint was the TV remote wasn't working however given that our days were filled with activities this was just a minor annoyance. It would have been nice to be able to flick on the television for a an hour or so without having to figure out how to select the channels from the television. All in all it was an experience worth repeating.
