I've been to Sundog Retreat several times, for work or week-ends, and in both cases I come back home so relaxed I feel like I went on a week-long holiday even though it was just for a night. The cabins are very peaceful, and the hot tub and sauna add to the enjoyment of the stay. I'll remember to bring good DVDs next time to enjoy a good film in the cabin too! Thanks to Heather and Andrew fr their warm welcoming,

This was first time to visit Whitehorse, the purpose is to view northern lights. Transportation, dog sledding tour, winter clothing were arranged perfectly by exchanging emails, airport pick-up re-arranged since we missed our original flight and arrived very late at midnight, even asking us if anything to get at grocery store prior to our arrival. The staff was kindly stopped to show us the northern lights, after checking-in, he came back to us and show us the northern lights again at perfect timing. Service, Cleanliness, facilities, amenities, location...all are excellent. We are sure we will be back to the Sundog retreat on next vacation.

Sundog is about 20 minutes away from downtown. Easy to find. We stayed in Cranberry cabin for 2 nights. Huge windows facing North, the perfect place to view Northern Lights. We can literally view Northern Lights from our cabin very comfortably. Cabin is spotless clean, a welcoming basket of breakfast items. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, extremely clean bathroom. Open field with unlimited views of the mountain. Heather and Andrew were so helpful and friendly. Hot tub and sauna are available, amenities are excellent. It was an excellent and relaxing experience.

Room Tip: Cranberry room has perfect mountain and facing North views

Once again we had a fabulous stay at Sundog. Fuzzy Crocus was full so we took the larger Fireweed Cabin for just two of us. Fireweed would be perfect for 2 couples or family of 4-6. Clean, bright, well-stocked kitchen supplies, strong heat source. Hot tub and sauna and shower building are excellent amenities, and not used that much by other guests so we soaked morning and night. Quiet, unlimited views. Town is only 20 minute drive. Staff helpful and friendly. All in all a perfect romantic getaway.

A friend of mine and I drove from Haines, AK, to have a night under the Aurora, or at least enjoy the crispy, snowy winter with our Canadian neighbors. The accommodation was just perfect--a sweet, small kitchen with just the amenities we needed; a basket of breakfast items; living room with comfy futon; and the bed in the back room was aimed perfectly for a view of the field lined with aspens and the Northern Lights "show" at about 2:35 a.m. Yukon time. Our space was private and really quiet. We enjoyed the hot tub before bedtime, a 7-minute walk from Fuzzy Crocus, perfect temperature for the -20 C evening stargazing. Changing arrangements, shower, and tub a few steps from the building, were just right. We had a short ski in the open field right outside our cottage, with two white-tail deer browsing at the edge of the woods. The most generous gift was our proprietor, Andrew, helping us get our truck started the next day. We hadn't prepared the truck for the cold and the battery was stubborn. Andrew stuck with us for over an hour, offering a jump, tools, scraps of metal, and, finally, gasoline de-icer. Overall, this experience felt like a friend had shared a cabin with us. I will definitely spread the word to my neighbors to take advantage of this great change-of-scene for winter. You should try it, too!

Room Tip: Fuzzy Crocus is right on the edge of the field, but with such a secluded loop, I can imagine that al...

Just recently returned from a three night stay in the Fuzzy Crocus cabin at Sundog Retreat. The plan was to hopefully view the Northern Lights. We succeeded. Each night the Lights became progressively better as we watched from our bedroom window. And just as importantly we would have enjoyed Sundog without the Lights. The cabin, location, and the great hospitality of the owners (Heather & Andrew) made our stay better than imagined. Heather & Andrew are people you would hope to be friends with in your home town. Heather's recommendations for flights, car rentals, and things do to were excellent. Would gladly go again anytime of year.
We hadn't used Trip Advisor before, but the reviews we read definitely led us to a great experience at Sundog.

Room Tip: All the cabins seems well situated and not on top of one another. The Fuzzy Crocus was perfect for...

The accomodations were perfect. The staff was hospitable and we really felt at home and relaxed on our stay. My daughter had the best 12th birthday ever here, enjoying the hottub, sauna, fitness room and games room. Sundog Retreat was the best choice for our little celebration. When we returned home we were relaxed and recharged from our time away without the bogged down road trip feeling because it was only 25 minutes from home!! I highly recommend this spot for a getaway!!

Room Tip: we stayed in the Raven's Nest located right above the sauna, games room and hot tub. Fully equip...
