This focuses on the early transportation of the Yukon and is very interesting and informative. A must to visit for the mechanical buff or the dog lover.

at the yukon transportation museum: descriptive exhibits, excellent films -- several of them movie length!! you will come away with much knowledge of how intrepid adventurers explored the northern territory.

It was very interesting to be able to see all the older cars and trains that were used back in the day.
Some fantastic news articles and artifacts about the The 'Miracle' Survivors of a Yukon Air Crash who were found alive on March 25, 1963.

We got to Whitehorse after the museum had closed for the season. Tried calling the museum and the very helpful lady there said she would be able to turn on the basic lights and let us have a look when she was there. The museum was well done and informative. If you go make sure to have a look at the exhibits outside as there are some interesting items on display.

This museum, like every other one that we went to in W. Horse, is well worth the time and the entry fee. Sitting in the rail carriage and watching the video of the train ride is close to the actual ride which we had done a few years ago. The mock stores are very well done and we particularly enjoyed the section abou the sled dogs and the Yukon race. The video service on the dogs could be set up better, we had to wait 15 minutes for the tape to rewind.
