We took a trip up to Whitehorse to see the Northern Lights. My advice to people thinking of doing the same thing would be do book last minute after checking the forecast. For our stay the lights were occuring much further north.
One thing I noticed is that when we came back from some late night Aurora viewing the hotel doors were locked. We had to press the doorbell to get in. I guess this is great to protect the safetly of guests.
The staff at this hotel were very very helpful. They answered all of our questions about the town and questions about good spots to view the Northern Lights.
It was a basic hotel but very clean and comfortable. Very convenient to shops and resturants in the downtown area. I did notice that the walls are paper thin and noises from the hallway were easily heard.
Also if you have a vehicle- the parking is 'first in first served'. So we had to park accross the street or around the corner a couple of times. Which is a little inconvenience.More
