“Good Food in Saskatoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013

This restaurant has been in Saskatoon for a long time, the food is good and the price is reasonable in Saskatoon. The dinning room makes you feel the old time of Hong Kong. Recently, a lot of new Asian restaurants open, but this one is still a highly recommended.
The waitress needs some more training on customer oriented. Overall, it is a restaurant worthwhile to come back.

“Best Dim Sum in the Prairies”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

I have eaten dim sum all over Canada and the Mandarin in Saskatoon is up there with the best. It has grown from a small cafe to an expansive restaurant full of steam carts racing to and fro with fresh made yummy dumplings, gai lan, noodles, chicken feet, tripe and sticky rice. My favorite are the soy bean wrapping rolls and the stuffed peppers. Definitely worth the visit!!!

“Good in Saskatoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

As a visitor from Richmond, BC where we are always blamed for high demanding on Chinese food quality, my comment is still "good" on many of their dim sum dishes (perhaps except the rice roll with beef). Good services and the dim sum carts (which are getting less and less in BC n you need to order on a dim sum sheet) have enabled me to give an additional 0.5 point more to make it 4 points. The restaurant is located at 20th Street with red logo; should be easy to find. Though the decoration and atmosphere may not impress some customers, the restaurant gave me a good reminder of those in the olden days of Hong Kong. Other than that, my last comment is "Good Value For Money".

“Do Not Be Turned Off By The Exterior”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

The Mandarin is a Saskatoon institution. It is located in a nondescript building a new blocks from the city centre. Your first impressions will be unfavourable -- a tatty entrance, an unimpressive lobby and a seemingly noisy restaurant. It gets better. The main dining room is light and airy. It is filled chock-a-block full with locals. This is generally the best dim sum restaurant in the city. The food is fresh, there is a great deal of choice, the pork buns are terrific, and the service is fast and efficient. This is a great place to dine casually with friends. Enjoy the din (it is a tad noisy, as are all good Chinese dim sum restaurants), but the prices are very attractive and the food is great.

“The Jewel In The Crown”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2012

There is NO OTHER place like this anywhere in the entire province of Saskatchewan. Everything is made in-house. Everything is made fresh daily. Every bite is a taste explosion in your mouth. If you want to truly impress your friends, your family or your boss then this is the place to take them. Simply incredible.
