Spent a very educational couple of hours at this outstanding museum admiring the huge collection of artifacts related to life on the Prairies in the early 20 th century. From farm equipment to early automobiles and a whole replica of a small town, everything beautifully presented and explained. The thing that struck me the most was that most of artifacts were made in Canada. In this era of mass consumption of Chinese goods we forget we cannot make anything in the country anymore ! This museum is well worth a visit to understand the historic and social evolution of life in the West over the past 100 years. This is definitely a must place to visit for all tourists to Saskatoon.

If you've not been, you should make the trip! So much fun, especially for kids to burn off energy indoors in the winter. We can spend hours here and they even have a place to eat. Boomtown is awesome!!

The museum was like travelling back in time at the turn of the century in western Canada to allow you to see what a developing western town would look like. Through exploring the buildings on the street scape inside the large museum, and examining the inside of these buildings and the artifacts contained therein you had a great sense of what life would have been like during this time period. There is a short movie about the journey west for immigrants and the challenges they faced which added another aspect to the visit, as the immigrant experience was explored in the video and also through various displays and interpretive panels. Our family really enjoyed this museum and found it rich in historical content, and were very glad we had stopped for a visit here.

Have been to Moose Jaw's, Yorkton's, Heritage Park in Calgary, and Fort Edmonton and this museum can compete with them all. Lots of information, we learn something new each time we are there.
