Recommended to this downtown restaurant and pub by a fellow patron at Starbucks. Was looking for a distinctive, locally owned spot to have a good meal. Not the usual fare at a chain restaurant. Located on a main street in the downtown, The Woods has charm and features great food to go with their own craft beer. What else would you want\? Menu features many local products from the meat to the veggies. Plus an array of tasty beer selections. I had a lovely soup with a succulent port chop accompanies by fresh veggies. Closed the meal with an apple dessert with ice cream. Great way to explore a new city. Worth the drive into the downtown from the industrial strip along the highway.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch last week. They have a great selection of beer which my husband liked. I had an caffe latte which was terrible. I know it's a pub but if you offer coffee know how to make it.

The food was terrible. I had to turkey pot pie… it was so dry not a bit of gravy or vegetable inside. The pastry was overcooked as well. My husband had the meatloaf which was okay but nothing to write home about.

Overall, a big disappointment.

We stopped in for a beer and were definitely surprised. The name caught our attention and lured us in.
The waitress was "excellent" and I mean it.
She knew the beer and was attentive and courteous. A definite asset to the business.

I will be back.
