“Excellent hotel in central Saskatoon”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

I stayed here on a business trip, the night before a 6am flight to Toronto. The rooms are very smart, and, like other reviewers, my room had an additional seating area. However, there's only one (flat screen) TV so you can't really watch the TV from the seating area.

The restaurant is a bit stark—brightly lit even in the evening—and is right on the sidewalk so it feels a bit like eating in a fishbowl, and the menu is rather limited. That said the firecracker prawns were wonderful.

Nice touch: there's a large display outside the ground floor elevators provide real time information on flights to and from Saskatoon Airport

The place is brand new and it looks great. The room was excellent they all have a small fridge and microwave. Mine had a small seating area as well. The bed was great. The only feedback I would give is there is no movie rental system that I could see. However there were many HD channels and a large flatscreen to watch it on.
The location is great right in downtown accross from the concert hall. I liked that the staff was helpful and attentive. Breakfast was also good. They have two choice either contonental or a hot Breakfat option which allow you to ask the cook for eggs any style you like.
Very Impressed. This will be my new Saskatoon home.

Beautiful new hotel in the heart of Saskatoon. The restaurant and bar were good, but pricey. It was quite a hike to find other food or nightlife, but we enjoyed walking and seeing the city. About a mike walk to a beautiful river walk trail that follows the river. Rooms were very nice and clean. Large bathroom with double sized glass shower but no bathtub.

We stayed at this beautiful new hotel in early September. Apparently the hotel is only about 4 months old. The lobby, lounge and rooms were very nice.Great decor.

The beds were comfortable, a bit noisy, location was on a main street and sirens were heard frequently throughout the night.

The main issue I had withe the room was the clealiness of the bathroom. The sliding pocket door still had. ?Gyproc dust on it when the door was fully opened. At first I thought perhaps we were one of the first to use the room. There was also a lot of building residue on the bathroom walls and floor. Not a big deal until I used the stand up shower. The floor of the shower was very dirty. It looked as though it hadn't been cleaned after some very dirty feet had been in there. There was also pinkish discoloration of the floor grout....gets that way from not being cleaned properly.
Disappointed....could have been such a great experience. I hope the cleaning of this hotel doesn't tarnish what could be a great place to stay. So unfortunate in such a new hotel.

At time of this review the hotel has only been open for four months. It is a very nice hotel with modern decor. The room was fairly large with a sofa and a very comfortable bed. Service was good and the restaurant in the hotel was decent. If it didn't have the Holiday Inn branding you would think it was a more expensive hotel

Attended the Canadian Dental Professions Conference September 13-15, 2012, and stayed at the Holiday Inn. Location was great-right across the street from the venue at TCU Place.
The lobby is very nice, welcoming and modern. We had a king room- great colors and decor. The bed was awesome with choice of pillow type.
Downside- There was some black mold on the closet ceiling which is a huge concern and surprising since it has only been open since April, 2012! The noise also carries from hallway and room to room.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Our room had a large fridge and microwave--handy!

I recently stayed 5 nights here during the CCMA's. The location is great if you are attending any events that take place at the TCU Centre as it is across the street. For a new building the parking structure was horrible. Very low and narrow. It has a wonderful lobby great for socializing and mingling. There is no little gift shop. We ate in the restaurant 2 times - slow service both times and a very limited menu. The food was okay, nothing wonderful. We dropped into the lounge a few times and the serivce was horrible. Had to go looking for someone to take our drink order and the same when we wanted to pay and leave. The room was nice and well stocked. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and must be well built as we were not bothered by any noise in the hallway or above us. The only reason I would never come back is the price - way too expensive! We got some sort of a "special" rate for the convention (same as the CAA rate) and it was close to $1300.00 for the 5 nights (that is just room and tax as we didn't charge anything else to the room). There is no room service and the menu in the restaurant is very limited. The only reason I would never stay here again is the rates are too high and the service was not great. You need your room key to operate the elevator - what a pain that was!!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay at the new Holiday Inn Saskatoon. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your time in our beautiful city and all the festivities around the CCMA's. It is always helpful to gain feedback, good or bad, from our guests. Your feedback will allow me the opportunity to reinforce the great job our staff is doing, as well as train and coach to those areas that aren't meeting the expectations of our guests. I will take this opportunity to address some of your concerns. 1.) Parking Garage. We have discovered that on occasion the parking garage can feel overly tight when at capacity or at times when filled with larger sized vehicles (ie: trucks & vans). 2.) The Lobby. We are very excited to have Canada's first Hub at Holiday Inn. The Hub at Holiday Inn is a new concept to the Holiday Inn chain that incorporates a spacious, open floor plan, food and beverage options and an atmosphere conducive to connecting with colleagues, friends and family. 3.) The Rooms. A good night sleep in a comfortable room is the ultimate goal for our guests. I'm especially glad you were able to do this during the fun and frevolity of the CCMA's. 4.) The Hub Restaurant & Lounge. Options in menu items are always evolving with the comments made by our guest. The new menu in our "Hub" concept is designed to cater to broad audience with a variety of comfort foods great for sharing. A busy time, like the CCMA's, keeps our staff on their toes. Knowing that your service was slower than expected gives us a great opportunity to continue to evaluate, coach and build on efficiency. 5.) The Rate. Although rates flucuate with the supply and demand in the hospitality industry. We hope that our new, modern hotel with innovative concepts like "The Hub at Holiday Inn" will continue make people happy when they are travelling for business or pleasure. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience at the Holiday Inn and Saskatoon.
