“Medical stay at Travelodge”

My all around experience was good except for the restaurant. I had ordered a mozza mushroom burger. My first bite I thought the hamburger tasted funny, but thought I better give it another chance, thinking maybe it was bison or something. Needless to say I had only 3 small bites total and was very sick the next day. Bad timing with being in the hospital with my son at 6:30 am. But otherwise my stay was good.

Angela, thanks for your feedback. I will pass the info onto our executive chef to investigate as this is very uncommon to hear about regarding our food services, which often receive rave reviews. Our Chef takes great pride in his kitchen and their product. I'm happy to hear that the balance of your visit was enjoyable and we look forward to hosting you again.

No help with bags on arrival they just watched me struggle, people knocking at my door in the middle of the night, food poisoning, and no electricity so had to carrie everything four flights of stairs and because of the elevator not working he did not seem to want to help!

Stayed over Saturday night and was quite underwhelmed. Hotel is beaten up, rooms are dated with minimal ameneties, hotel is loud (anyone showering in near vicinity could be heard--very loud), work out room is in dark dreary basement. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

rk1963, thank you for your feedback. We recently added new carpet, paint, wall paper, lighting to our 1 thru 6 floor towers. As well we are adding new bedding packages(spreads, box liners, pillows) to our rooms. Not all rooms have the new bed packages, but they are very modern and fresh with the new product and we are just working through all the rooms to get them updated. We will have a look at the fit room to address any lighting deficiencies. I'm happy to hear your interaction with our associates was pleasant and helpful.

I was a little disappointed. THe power went off in the morning so no clock, no alarm, no lights which meant no shower unless you could see in the dark. There was no communication to guests to what was happening and what to do. Also, since getting to shower and get ready was delayed there should have been an automatic delay for check-out. I would of hoped for some sort of rebate.
ALso, TV remote did not work. Fridge had to be unplugged due to it being very noisy. Overall...just an average stay.

The travelodge is a great place for teams and such, but as for a mini stay while coming to stoon for a doctor app for our son, it proved to be a disappointment. The price was way to high for the quality of the hotel. Our rooms decor was styled back in the 90's, the room was dull and boring. Lacked any style. We had to pile everything heavy that we could find into a trash bucket to put on top of the air conditioner because it was falling apart and rattling so bad, it kept us up. The toilet barely flushed. The pool area was rusty and moldy. The bottom of the waterside was full of rust and black mold. In regina, they have a mini area for little kids to play, its clean, the rooms were very stylish and cheaper to, a friend stayed in regina the very next night at the travelodge in regina, same room style, two beds balcony off of the pool second floor, she paid 20 bucks cheaper and the room was so much nicer, the pool was so much cleaner. But thats beside the point. For what we paid for and for what we got, breakfast was not included. Thats a big draw in to customers, not having to leave and pay for a breakfast when they are already paying 200 for a lower than low room.

Keith B, thanks for your feedback. Over the next year we are planning and executing an major reno to our pool and waterslide area. We have done some prelim work on replacing the skylights in the static pool area and resurfaced the slide surface of the waterslide. It will be a big capital project, but we are really excited on the upgraded rec facility that we will have for our valued guests.

This used to be our go-to hotel for vacations or even staycations with kids because the waterslide and pools were so great. I even used to come here as a kid (25 years ago) and nothing about the pool has changed since then! The waterslide ends in a VERY fast current into a small but deep pool with a slippery bottom, making holding toddlers up and out of the water tricky if you don't want to drown, yourself!
My worst complaint is the fact that unless you are staying in a poolside room, you have to walk, in your bathing suit/soaking wet, through the front lobby area, and then around a corner, past conference/function rooms to get to the ONLY elevators in the hotel! It seems Travelodge has added on an annex or something without thinking things through. The signage inside the hotel is absolutely terrible. Like I said, I have been coming to this hotel for over 25 years, and even had my wedding here! And I got lost a number of times!
All staff I dealt with were friendly. The restaurant was good, and the brunch buffet they were prepping looked delicious.

Room Tip: If you are going to be using the pool/waterslide, only opt for poolside rooms or be prepared to trai...

We stayed here recently while dropping our oldest off at school. We stayed for two nights, in a pool-facing room on the second floor. The beds were comfortable, it was no problem getting a cot in for our oldest. The halls and pool area did look they could use a facelift, but the room was nice. Very thin walls, though (keep reading for notes on that).
The pool area and waterslide area were nice, but dated. The fitness room was way too hot, and no fans to keep the air moving. (the fan on my treadmill didn't work either). I had to cut my workout short, it was way too hot. One note, the fitness room is NOT open 24 hours like it says in the hotel amenity book.
My one complaint, and it's not the hotel's fault, was our neighbours on the second night. They were extremely noisy and we could hear everything through the thin walls. We called down to the front desk at 12:30am, 1:30am and my husband was about to go to the desk physically at 2:45 am when the desk clerk knocked at the door to ask about the noise level. At that point things quieted down until 4am. Their rude behaviour ruined a night's sleep, and in fairness, the hotel did discount 10% off the room rate for the second night.
The hotel restaurant was a ridiculous waste of money - just go to the Denny's across the street.
We'd stay here again, but maybe ask for a room on the quiet side of the hotel.
