I was looking for a hotel for an upcoming job in Saskatoon and both this Super 8 and a Days Inn were conveniently located near where I would be working. The Days Inn offered a pool, gym and breakfast, but the rooms in the pictures looked a bit old and outdated, not very inviting at all. I was a little hesitant to stay at this Super 8 since it does not offer a POOL or FiTNESS CENTRE, but the pictures of each room looked fantastic. New, updated, inviting and comfortable. So i settled on this hotel instead of the Days Inn or Travelodge just down the road.

I must say, I have NEVER been one to write a review for any hotel, and I stay at dozens throughout the year for work. However, this hotel has been a COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT and i've only been here for a few hours.

I will admit the room does look as it did in the pictures, but at best, its a simple furniture swap, coat of paint and new carpet. It still feels and SMELLS old, almost damp and moldy both in my room and the hallway. I happened to be staying here during some very warm weather, and typically that's not an issue in most hotels I stay at given that its almost standard to get A/C. What this room has, barely qualifies as a FAN. It has two knobs, and even on very high cold/fan for a few hours now, my room is still sitting at almost 80 degrees. If you're ok with sleeping without sheets and still breaking a sweat, that's what you'll get with these lousy a/c units.

Before bed, i attempted to take a shower to try and cool off before bed, another disappointment. The water smells horrible and BARELY comes out of the shower head. There is little to no water pressure coming out of that thing,. Again, some people may not necessarily care about that, but I feel its at least worth mentioning.

As for Breakfast, not much to tell here again. They have basically setup 3 or 4 small tables practically in the middle of the lobby (no joke), and at best you're going to get cereal or waffles. There is a Tim Hortons right across the street, that would honestly be you're best bet.

Finally, the internet.....If you are in the right area of the hotel and are a SHAW customer, i suggest using the Shaw Go WiFi instead of what this hotel offers. Even trying something as simple as opening an e-mail requires 4 to 5 page refreshes to get it to properly load. Its extremely painful.

I really dont know where some of these good reviews are coming from. Yes, on the surface this place "seems" nice, but even with its nice semi-updated rooms, it still feels very dated compared to other hotels I've stayed at. If you are deciding between this or the Days Inn, or something else nearby, I would recommend spending the extra $20 a night and go with something else. Your stay here will not be enjoyable.

Room Tip: Stay at the Days Inn down the road, this was not an enjoyable stay.

Overall stay was good, was just looking for a cheaper hotel because we're on a budget. The breakfast wasn't satisfactory but it was good enough. Would eat somewhere else next time even though its complimentary.
