I visited this place a number of years ago and took the stroll through the park. Educating and enlightening. The up and down hills may be an issue for some, but plenty of resting spots. Try the Bannock at the cafe.

Very nice place to go for the day. Cant wait to see it in summer.
Very informative about native culture, and a huge park for walks

When my friend came from Los Angeles I thought it would be a place she would enjoy and I was right. We started by seeing the film, looked at the exhibits, ate in the restaurant and then chose the trail that leads down to the river. It was beautiful. There were lots of birds and we did see one deer but no other animals. The trail is a bit of a challenge to get down to the river but well worth the effort. Of course, Arlene had to read every sign along the way. Wanuskewin is truly a treasure and the people that work there are always so polite and helpful.

I had the pleasure of joining in a circle dance with Julian & other fellow visitors after hearing the stories & history of the local natives & how after 20 years to finally show how their culture can be shown & be proud of. Julian spoke of how he was given the head-dress & what all that he wore meant. It certainly gives more deep meaning as how & what they wore!
There is also a power so strong within these grounds to a point I felt giddy, how much inner strength these people have to show us. I felt very connected to this area & I hope that it continues to show all peoples the cultural history of this area.

I have been there several times over the past years and it is really a great place to go! During later summers there are archaeological digs that happen there and they are great experiences. There are good walking trails that they have to offer.
