The Mongolie Grill recently changed their name to the Mongolie House but it still has that same great taste. Patron's of this restaurant are able to pick up their own bowl and fill it with vegetables, seafood, meat and/or noodles and add sauces for flavor. The bowl is then taken to a cook who weighs it and hands you a receipt with the price of your meal. This can get a little pricey but if there are left overs they can be taken home. The contents of your bowl is then cooked on a large grill out in full view for you to watch if you'd like. A pot of rice is also brought to your table before your cook brings you your prepared plate. I recommend trying this restaurant for something different!

I carefully selected my meal items with a friend helping me. I have allergies so she and I carefully went through it all. The chef put it all on an uncleaned grill and I ended up reacting to the food. Sigh.

However, a lot of people locally love this restaurant. If you don't have allergies, go for it. It's a family environment with booths. You go along a buffet and pick the food you want and the sauces you want. Then you go to the chef behind the grill. He tosses it all on the grill and cooks it for you, plates it up and hands it to you.

Chinese style cuisine. Reasonable price as I recall.

It's all too easy to get carries away here. So much food to choose from and the only problem with that is that hte price adds up very quickly.

I love stir-fry, so I keep trying this place, but am always disappointed, because the service is so poor. Every time. There are usually only two waitresses for the entire place. You will rarely be able to catch one of them. Difficult to get coffee or cutlery or anything you need. But the worst was yesterday, when they told us they ran out of rice, and it would be awhile. (Seriously? this is the only thing served to every table, that they for sure need to have!). Our meal took another 40 minutes or so to arrive AFTER that, and still no rice. Another 10 minutes (food getting cool), and the so-called rice arrives. Absolute mush. (I eat rice all the time, anywhere, any kind.) I have never had such a poor excuse for rice - just awful. Tasteless mush. (The basic ingredient of their entire menu!)

The venue: casual / family dining. Pick your own ingredients, they stir-fry for you and bring to your table, along with rice and rice papers. Soup served as an appetizer while you wait.

My family refuses to eat here any day except Sunday, as they are so overpriced on Mon-Sat. Expect $20.- $30. for a stir-fry. On Sunday's, a flat rate of $10. within a set weight amount.
The ingredients are fresh, but lately the broccoli and carrots are cut into such huge chunks that they don't even cook properly, and are difficult to eat (you don't get a knife).

Gluten - they have a few gluten-free sauces, which is good. The two soups that they serve before the meal usually contain gluten. The rice papers they bring to your table contain wheat.

Allergies: If you have any, look out. However, they carelessly mix peoples food together on the grill. For example: my Dad put 8 shrimp in his bowl, and got 5 on his plate. I had cashews in mine, and I did not put any in the bowl.

Great food you pick out yourself and they cook right there in front of everyone. Just be careful not to pick too much heavy meats, etc as they charge you by the weight! It can be very, very expensive!!
